Oh noes! In the middle of this, I went right to the other end of the garden, through the barn & into the yard, but when I got there I couldn't remember why! :o

It's a long garden, mind, and I see this as exercise. Besides, as lir will tell you, there are many fiddly little jobs to do on a smallholding. (Hang on, you know that!)

Ah yes, it was to support the late peas.....:)

I which they had some brown ones, or mustard ones.

    Are you tall?

Very practical, as plenty of room for your wellies when you're out in the yard.

I couldn't wear culottes. Various of our friends had them when late-nearly-ex and I were just starting to go out with each other. He hated them with a passion and used to try to persuade some of the closer friends to wear things he considered more attractive - short skirts, mostly. He indoctrinated me to consider culottes as something I would never, ever wear, and I find somehow I still feel that way about wearing them myself, although I don't find them nasty if I see other people wearing them. I guess I don't like the idea of people (nobody specific, just generic people) seeing me in them and thinking the kinds of things he used to think about culottes!

But lir, I do agree that that colour is not right for you. Not with your gorgeous hair. You're right to hanker after brown or mustard instead. The colour of the ones you've linked to is one of my favourite colours for clothes for myself, but then my hair and skin are quite different from yours.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Oh dear, last time I said yes and go into big trouble with a tall NP...can't remember who.

I am five foot five and a half....so sort of medium IMO.

In italy I was a giant! (I think one of the reasons dh loves italy so is that there he too is tall. ;))

A GP I know used to moan about all the older patients who turned up at their surgery complaining they had walked across the room to get something but when they'd got their forgotten what it was!
His own thoughts being that he himself did this all the time!

We all "suffer" minor memory "lapses" every day, but it means nothing

Made me think of the number of times we drive a journey, get to the destination and then can't recall passing the landmarks, junctions etc.! :)

Late nearly ex had culottes, dh's version of the same is hareem pants. I suggested I might get some for lounging and he put his foot down, he said even knowing I was wearing them when he wasn't here would be worrying about it. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm reasonably brave with colour.,...but yes, would need to pair them carfully with other autumnnal colours, I agree.

I had a skirt that colour, also cord, when I was a kid, I think that's part of the allure, I loved that skirt!

edit: I think I've just talked myself out of it now though...because it occured to me that with more weight I'll get that whippy whippy sound of cord chaffing....which is not unpleasant, but might make me self conscious.

Actually, noticed this the other day and wondered if it was worth looking into.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2037143/Alzheimers-Vitamin-B-pills-ward-disease.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

I read somewhere that in the US most people over 50 are advised to take a low-dosage aspirin every day to ward off CVD.

And that they were working on a "polypill" of supplements that might prevent or delay some common problems :p

So, on the basis that this thing's going to fall from the sky tonight, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to track it online.

The main/official site never loaded for me, then it appears to not be loading for anybody, but I'd tracked down a website that had a plugin written that showed you the location in real time. I saw it once, but didn't understand what I was seeing, so tried again to load it etc for the past 2 days .... anyway .... tried again at 7.20pm and this time it said I needed Google Earth to install - that took until 8.35pm, then I loaded the page again and now it's just saying "please wait" and still not showing.

But, I've worked out what it is. The red lines (obviously) show its route (not sure if it's the route taken, or the planned route), the red dot is where we are ... and the big yellow thing is where the thing is.

    http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/09/21/exclusive-track-nasas-falling-65-ton-satellite-in-real-time/

And to get that link I just went to the window again and it's still saying "please wait" for me.

    hasn't it landed yet?

I'm going to bed early, and am setting the alarm to let my poor abandoned dogs out later. Luckily my skin is improving even today, but I have tired eyes, as if I haven't slept fr a month.

Before I got ill I dealt with stress by doing stuff....manically acheiving. Now I like to get a nap and sleep through blue days. :) Not as productive, I admit, but nicer.
