That's good.
Thanks for listening to me whinge last night folks.
I feel better and brighter about it now. In fact...it might be really good for me, continued rediscovery of independance combined with absence making the heart grow fonder etc etc.Much, much worse things happen to people all the time, and I think professionally its probably good and exciting for dh (though he's moping a bit down the phone too!)
We go the ''four sleeps'' a week apart now, and regularly did fortnight stints in the Italian situation, and we're going to make sure we don't go a month with out seeing each other this time. I look forward to seeing Brussels (once I've worked out the best way to get from Waterloo to st Pancras with a suitcase and a walking stick!)
I'm also designing some personal challenges for the upcoming months with spends etc. Very MSE. And see how much more I can physically do. A little challenge is good for personal progress.:)
:T
I went to Brussels as a child, & would love to go back.
We went to the battlefield of the Battle of waterloo there too. Had an ace time.
Good luck with your challenges!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

GO ON MIDDLE SON!!!!!!
(I did actually shout that at the screen when I read your post!)
If ex complains, tell him to man up! All he seems to do is shift the blame onto anyone but himself. Sounds like self esteem issues to me...
God issues more like....he is of the idea that he can never ever do anything wrong and if something goes wrong, it is because of someone else as he is so perfect.
I know ex needed to be told but it stills makes me go eek, especially as the way middle son wrote it was in a very angry style. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Shame, it won't be visible to all and sundry on his FB wall!
I think a fair few would have seen it as middle son left it there for a good 15 minutes or so and it was at peak time for everyone on the friends list looking in.We made it! Well done on how you decided to take it. That is one kind of advice it is rare I'd expect a mother to give their daughter...
My mother told me when I was around 14 she was worried I wasn't having ''more sex with boys''. Hmm, I went to an all girls school (most of the time) and I was pony mad and had other things going on in free time, that left me little time or ability for teen dating...where did she expect me to meet all these random available boys prepared to sleep with underage girls? I did have male friends of course, but just wasn't interested in young teen age boys at all. Fwiw, I don't think if she thought it through she's stand by these comments but she doesn't..she just gets run away with strange half baked ideas. She's casting her eye around for husband number four atm I think.0 -

If you want to explore the public transport alternatives, you can use the TFL journey planner http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en. This shows that the quickest journey requires two tube journeys and a 5 minute walk, taking 20 mins total. A better bet may be to take the 59 bus, which takes 30 mins, but goes direct. If going in rush hour, you need to allow much more time for the bus.
To be frank, if you go by public transport, you'll be lugging your suitcase around a lot. A taxi is not going to be that expensive, £10 say, and it may make the difference between arriving in a fit condition to enjoy your stay in Brussels or not.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I do love a taxi.
Sigh...once upon a time it would have been a simple change at waterloo, having got on the right train here to end up at waterloo:D
I don't think I've ever been on Eurostar...I know dh really rates it highly though.0 -

Shows your lad has passion. Good on him I say.
If ex had sons passion & intelligence, he'd see how angry he was from what he posted/emailed.
I'm still chuffed to bits by your lad.
Don't eek. Have a cuppa instead!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

If you go by Eurostar and arrive late in "Bruxelles Midi" (Brussels South Station), make sure you are being picked up or also take a taxi there. You don't wanna be hanging around public transport at night in that neigbourhood...:cool:0 -
