The tariffs are supposed to be index linked for 25 years at the level you go in at. So far the government are intending to make the electricity companies honour the tariff commitments to people who've already got into the system, but they're talking about dropping the tariffs for new people by 30% next April instead of the planned 8%.
I'm gambling that this country is going to continue its long history of honouring contracts already made, and just not letting anybody else in if the contracts turn out to be unaffordable. If you're tempted to go ahead and get some, I would seriously recommend getting in before the end of this financial year.
If any of the nice people are thinking of getting PV panels, please PM me. I can give you the low-down on the 5 companies who quoted for me (3 of whom aren't worth getting quotes from at all IMO, but 2 of whom are good). Also, if you get a quote from the company I'm going with, you can mention my name, and if you happen to end up getting panels with them, I'll get a referral fee out of it.
You could well be onto something.
They are sprouting up almost daily around here.
I do have one customer who has had them installed on his holiday camp for around 14 years and he said they had paid themselves after around 10 years, Just for hot water and another customer who has a factory had them installed 2 weeks ago.
Do you sell it all back or use what you need and sell the excess back?0 -

Talking to her more the parent is also ''a rider'' nd also took offence that daughter was not taught to pull on the reins ''which she knows to do'' and might also have inadvertantly been slighted by friend saying ''when people say pull on the reins and not this consider whether its the best thing to do at the time, look for the things the pony does to say it doesn't like something, e.g. does their pony raise its head''.
Inadvertantly friend has introduced kids to adult pleasures and told them their mum can;'t ride and is mean to her horse. But of course, the thing her employers and she are frantic about is the ''adult content'' of the lesson....word of mouth is vital for riding schools.
I am sure she will be fine....sounds like an overreaction from an adult with too much time on their hands. The teen could have exaggerated the pelvic floor move description in a jokey way too and, like secret whispers, the tale grew as it was told.
I used to teach aerobics years ago and teaching how to rotate the pelvic floor was a key thing...and hard to do without refferring to other parts due to it's location in the body.
I understand a bit about different riding ways too (esp after you posted the clips on the extreme dressage which I can't recall the name of) and some people can be a bit defensive about trad ways of doing things if they feel critisised.
If the owner of the school holds his belief on his techniques then he should defend them as it's his USP.0 -

We also looked into them and it has been fascinating reading about Lydias install but we are west and east facing roof plus surrounded by tall trees so they are not recommended. I would have loved to have covered our roof in them.0 -

A mandolin slicer for 4 gherkins? I am going to be very MSE and say you must have a small sharp knife somewhere......5 mins on a chopping board job done. 200 gherkins and the slicer is worth getting.
Dumb question...are your gherkins cucumbers or are gherkins a special vegetable that you grew?
Proud moment today as I have 3 fully grown chillies on my plant and loads of mini green toms ....so now I can join in the veg growing chat.Yay :j Unfotunately, due to negelct, the large salad border has turned into a weed fest.0 -
It's a scary thing bucking the trend as I have asked these customers about their countries situations but it doesn't seem to have affected 'fun' non- essential spend.
Glad it went well for you today, even if a tough one.
Even in our micro-community, some businesses go against the general trend. For example, we have 8 builders in our village of 600 souls, and none of them is idle.
Also noticed our village's permanently 'up for sale' house was receiving its annual coat of paint today. :rotfl:0 -

How long has it been for sale? What's wrong with it?:)0 -

She works sundays in a riding school giving quality riding lessons...i.e. proper riding not ..kick means go, pull the reins for stopping, but rather proper riding with correct aids, but to kids. A mother has complained because ''pelvic floor'' was brought into a begginers' class today. Friend swears nothing inappropriate was said, and she referred to the muscles you use when ''stopping a wee''. Would the parents here deem this inappropriate adult content? (kids are between four and 8, but tbh, it wouldn't matter to me the age, they hve to learn this) Its a vitally important thing when riding correctly, and its a fairly important thing to learn to practise early!
Your poor friend. People like that make me so angry, it's like they are incapable of sensible thought. I don't see any significance in referring to the pelvic floor; it's the part of the body she wanted to refer to that was important and relevant to what she was teaching - she could have said 'bottom' as they both live in the same area - and the reaction from a parent should be the same - ie. none; nevermind questioning your friend's professionalism and unnecessarily upsetting her.
I don't understand why such petty people don't spontaneously combust with all the unnecessary stress they put upon themselves. If she has a problem with your friend, she can take her children elsewhere instead of pointless attention seeking. She either has nothing else to worry about in her life (lucky her, perhaps she should be comfortable with that rather than finding stuff to be angry about) or is taking out her own problems on the rest of the world.
I don't know why, but I'm reminded of a couple of friends who had a bit of a spat one evening. She said "If I were married to you, I'd kill you". His very quick response was "If I were married to you, I'd kill myself!"
fc, there's nothing that will stop a girl dressing up nicely to seek a mate! Your price point must be pretty accessible for girls with that celeb edge attached to it, which the girls here must love. If I wore one of your creations, my backside would hang out the bottomI don't think that is supposed to happen intentionally!
I've been very productive today. Taught DD to ride her bike properly on the local cycle route (perfect conditions!) and ended up inadvertently doing about a 3k run, trying to keep up with her on the way home when she did better than I was expecting! Came home and made a fish pie, a clafoutis and HM burgers for another day and then carried on with our filing in the attempt to lose an item of furniture for the move - it's taken hours and hours so far but has been pretty successful and incredibly cathartic. I feel like a better woman!
I've been thinking about PN on and off all day. I hope you are holding up under the strain. Sometimes the palliative drugs to remove pain will do a lot to incapacitate the patient in most other ways. I don't know if it has gotten that far yet, but I'm very sorry. Have any of the agencies involved picked up on helping with long term support for the other old?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

How long has it been for sale? What's wrong with it?:)
It's been for sale since we began looking at ours in May 2009.
The main thing wrong is the location, as it's a corner house on a right angled junction with no front garden, or even a strip between the road and the door. It's also heavily shaded by someone else's trees, and half of the garden is detached, on the other side of the neighbour's garden!
So, a bit of a pig's ear, but a well-painted one.0 -

.
gherkins are the same species as cucumbers, but are a different cultivar,,, rather like cherry tomatoes are different from 'normal' tomatoes.
Most people only experience them as that odd green slice of vegetable you get in a Big Mac.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
