Sorry to hear that PN. Even though expected, it's never a nice thing to go through.

Hope things go as well as they can.

Second that. Just try to take the time to look after yourself too PN.

The first rule of first aid is to make sure you don't become a victim too. The same principle applies to caring for people.

I'm sure all the Nice People are wishing you well if it helps. I certainly am.

PN, whatever's happened in the past week would've happened anyway, so it's for the best that you had a complete break.

Like Hamish, I hope things go as smoothly as they can and that your parent doesn't suffer unduly.

PN, Generali is right, you needed the break and you had fun and learned stuff while coping with the hammering, so it was valuable.

I hope old now goes quickly and peacefully.

Wishing someone quick death always sounds incredibly rude, so forgive me, but once its this far gone I just hope suffering ends soon. Better for him,r better for family, because the next stage for the other old is on hold till then and the grief is building for the family but has to bottleneck until then.

I would have taken the Old Kent Road and then along the Embankment. Catford and Peckam are more ethnic, vedgy and more fun that Brompton Road - and surely better for inspiration?

    QUOTE]

There are people paying an awful lot for clothes round Brompton rd. Pretty good inspiration I think! Also good to see what they want to wear.

Also speaking of town a few weeks ago dh ate at a place called Vanilla Black, which I thought might interest the veggies who live in/around London. He loved the cheese pannacotta.

FC: I'm not usually hungry. I am often grumpy about it though:rotfl:. I do eat 2000 calorie days, through hoarding, but the weight afterwards booms. I had tests for basal metabolic rate some years ago and they made me do them again because the results were depressingly unbelievable.

FWIW, I had to be really careful BEFORE I was ill too. They say that has no bearing on now, but could have put be at risk of greater suffering if the original nueroligcal problem was contracted or compounded by a virus. NEVER keep you exercise routine up if you have a cold! (thinking back I did have a cold before I was ill and my trainer was away and I was running with someone else, and I remember telling him that while I didn't like the hill I was walking up I did run up it 3 times a week and my trainer would never let me get away with walking. The stand in guy was just keen to get me to the top!) I sometimes get a bit caught up by wondering why...was the run the main rpoblem? the shocking ''nutrition''? The insect bite I got in Portugal after that run?

Who knows and its time to move forward!

Had a quick read of this thread.

    I love mushrooms.

    hurrah!

I can't believe your kids didn't notice a hole either. Perhaps they were worried that you'd be cross, and felt pressure from the gas people and so just ''separated themselves'' from the hole? Probably though they just...didn't think it would be a big deal?

That made me laugh......I don't feel very high flying right now as we aren't really.

He really meant flying low but didn't want you to get the wrong end of the stick :rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously though, i really like reading your daily toils, highs and lows (insecurity's) which you put over so well and i can relate to it all.

Unfortunately there will always be nasty people around and all you can do is push the nastiness to the back of your mind and think of the "nice" people's comments. At least you know what's what now.

Panels now ordered, costing just shy of £13k. Should be fitted in Sept. (Have I said that already? If so, forgive the repetition.)

The norm seems to be £14k, you must have haggled :money: :D

The thing that puts me off is that i know just when "everyone" has got them, the government will change the rules (tariffs) just like they did with diesel and everything else where people try and beat the system.

It does sound like a good idea with ever rising fuel prices and time will tell just how good.

Hope it works out and they say it's the equivalent of putting your money in an account paying 10% interest. :T

Sounds grim, Pastures. For everyone's sake, I hope it doesn't go on like this too long. We're all still here for you.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
