Excitement? well if a spinning wheel is classed as exciting then yes siree bob my life is heaving with excitement. Otherwise no. Same old same old.
Ooh, I missed the bit about the spinning wheel! And, yes, a spinning wheel is classed as exciting, so heave away. Er, or something.Squeeeeee my drop spindle has finally arrived
See? Assuming a drop spindle has something to do with it ...?"Green pastures are before me,

A drop spindle is the MSE version of a spinning wheel. Its basically a lump of wood on a stick that hurts a lot when you drop it on your foot which is why I spent a large chunk of yesterday evening wearing a rather sexy paw print pj and steel toe-capped boot combo. The result could easily be classified as art yarn in that its randomly thick and thin and is no use for anything whatsoever.
Today is shaping up to be a fab day for the wrinklies phoned to inform me that they've got me tickets to an evening out as a treat and its a bring your own chair, brolley and blanket job in a 16th century graveyard. Having seen the weather forecast I've also chucked in waterproof overtrousers, a large brimmed hat and my thermal undies. The OH is most grateful that he has to stay home on the off chance the shed arrives as we have a three day delivery slot. I thought being stuck in for a specific day was bad enough.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Spent an all too brief 24 hours with the grandparents. Had to endure every soap going. Ate rather a lot of donuts and cake, spent far too much at their local charity gala but came away with theree dozen horsey kids books for the DDs which guarantees rather a lot of peace. Had awful journeys in both directions thanks to driving rain, dense fog, flooded roads and the general volume of traffic. I hate motorways on dry sunny days.
Took a minor detour into a crafty shop on my way there. Was rather restrained and bought a single ball of wool and a length of ribbon to make the world dullest teacosy at the request of the lady in the posh village shop. Just have to get round to making it.
Have sorted out a large pile of vintage costume jewellery for fleabay. Its all hideous but currently rather trendy, I inherited it from my mum when she died and its been sat in the same box for two decades. I'll never wear it, I have no memories attached to any of it so its next up on the hit list for disposal. The last batch of stuff I shifted has emptied another shelf in a cupboard so things are slowly getting tidier and I'm valuing the space more.
Unsurprisingly theres no sign of the shed nor any message from the supplier to say it was collected from them on Friday so I doubt it will arrive today or tomorrow. Will be chasing up the credit card company too as thier paperwork still hasn't arrived despite it being sent twice. They can get a statement to us every month so why can't they get a letter here?
Plans for today involve much seeking out of school stuff and last minute homework as well as the sorting out of a bag of stuff we liberated from a skip whilst in Yorkshire. DD1 is now the proud owner of a pair of Birkenstocks, a Radley mirror and case, several branded leather handbags a lot more purses (some with money in) and a heck of a lot of wedges (shoes, not spuds). After that every skip we drove past was met with a request to pull up round the corner so that they could go skip diving. Hate to think what they'll write in their English books entitled "What I did on my holidays".Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Skip diving - a fab and lucrative pastime! Their 'what I did in the holidays' ditties would have me enthralled - far more interesting and less scary than what I will be faced with tomorrow:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
