Certainly sounds like a dodgy company - can you cancel and get CC to chase the money??Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Boring survey completed, £3 more to the spinning wheel fund.
Shed company harassed. They've admited that they have been useless and will be delivering the shed in a fortnights time without any further payment from us until its sitting outside the house. This is conveniently outside the cut off point for the credit card claim but since the forms for that have gone AWOL in the post the credit card peeps have extended the deadline and are resending the paperwork. Who knows we might even have a shed in another couple of weeks.
Have to rummage about in the wardrobe for something red, white and blue. Am pretty confident I have some ridiculous striped leggings that fit this description rather nicely.
And finally proper lace needles are fab and I've manged 20 rows of shawl without incident.... and a fair bit more hat too. Won't be making the mistake of trying to follow the lace pattern when tired because its far too easy to screw up when I'm not paying attention.... and the blog interview I did as part of the handbag competition is now live.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
 to the shed company.
We had a similar issue when we ordered a shed (will have to go and find the company details and PM you just in case it is the same one)
Relative ordered us a shed for our sheep to sleep in, not massive but a usual size - he paid online for it and a few days before the expected delivery date he gets a phone call from an Indian sounding person asking for money for the shed.
Luckily relative said he did not have his card and would call back.
When we rung the company they said it was not them who had rung so we forgot about it but hearing your saga I wonder if it might be the same?
How else would someone else have known that relative had ordered a shed? (He didn't have a virus as we checked that when he moved in with us)0 -
Granny arrived yesterday, aquired childen and departed all in a 30 minute whirlwind. The cheeky biatch still managed to tell the OH that my housework was improving. V. glad I was at work.
*insert whoop whoop item* For I am childfree for an entire week. Of course I'll be spending most of this time at work or decorating.... if I can persuade OH that we really do need to decorate... which we do... the bathroom is dark and dingy and needs some cheer injecting into it. Ideally I'd like to do something with my craft room but since the shed hasn't arrived theres no where to put the OHs cherished tat.... even though hes admitted a lot of it can go in the bin.
Planning to go out at least once to eat in a posh restaurant anything thats not McDonalds or a supermarket cafe would be fab.
Hoping OH sleeps in so I can have a couple of hours peace to bumble. Not that I'll do anything productive but its rather nice not to be whizzing out the door for something or other.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Wandering through town the other day I spotted a shop with one whole wall plastered with "How to knit" diagrams and instructions.
I loitered outside, furtively making mental notes. Then I was ambushed by two lovely ladies who dragged me inside and made me knit!
They're part of a project called Knit2Together who are planning to cover the six columns outside Birmingham's Museum and Art Gallery with woolly jackets. (www.knit2together.tumblr.com)
Here's my first block - they are going to need quite a few of these...(look, look....I've knitted something :j)

How fab is that!
Meanwhile I've screwed up yet another lace pattern but I've finally figured out why..... I'm doing everything backwards..... I blame it all on YouTube ... Its like learning by looking into a mirror.
At least now I can almost read lace charts which means slp2kpsso yo k yo slp2kpsso suddenly becomes # o @ o # Clear as mud.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Spent most of yesterday at Woodfest perving over muscular men in skimpy vests and clingy trousers wielding axes.
The four legged fiend was impecably behaved all apart from the stopping to roll in each and every patch of sheep shoite. She spent as long on her back with her legs akimbo as she did on all fours.
I was remarkably restrained and didn't buy anything. The OH more than made up for this. Fab day out.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
