Work was awful. As a result the temporary cleaner won't be returning after half term. Not that we've got a replacement but I doubt we'll notice any difference. I over did it yesterday but slept well. Fortunately today is a very short day and the lovely people from Ocado have made my life much easier with a £20 off offer and sensibly priced delivery, so I don't have to venture near a supermarket this week.

Am skipping todays road safety lessons, I haven't got any energy at all. Mind you I think the lack of food I'm consuming has a lot to do with that. I'm not even vaguely hungry so am eating for the asake of it and even then thats not a lot. Would be amazed if I'd managed 600 calories yesterday. Really need to make an effort to eat but its so draining and having to eat everything lukewarm really isn't helping.

Still the stitches come out this afternoon. Hoping things will return to normal in readiness for doing this all over again in another couple of months time.

    Hope things improve today.

You certainly don't have much luck with cleaners do you

I was chatting to a member of a group I belong to (animal related) and she brought her spinning wheel to a show we were at so I thought I would ask her some questions about spinning wheels.

Her spinning wheel cost £80 and is just as good as the more expensive, the more expensive it gets the more things it can do so you need to decide in advance what you want.

When she started she joined a spinning/weaving group, they allowed her to borrow an old spinning wheel for a few weeks and when she was still interested she then moved up to their newer spinning wheel which they sold to her for £80.

I just wonder if this is something that you might have near you as there is a lot to consider on a spinning wheel.

If you wanted a chat about spinning wheels I can get you her email address.

I had my stitches out and I feel human again. The last of the pain disappeared instantly. Am even allowed to clean my teeth and eat warm food. Celebrated with a pizza, although not one topped with marshmallows, chocolate buttons and chocolate sauce, that was just a bit too over the top.

Spent the day in the sun blitzing the garden. Filled a wheelie bin with weeds and could easily fill another, hoping to do that today and mow the lawn which resembles a jungle.

Finally posted the E-bay parcel and was paid for another tea cosy sale byt he village shop owner. Now have to knit an incredibly boring one in shades of beige with a ribbon round the base, although that won't be any time soon as I have a couple of other things to do first.

Have arranged for a spinning lesson locally. Rather excited about that.

Then I took a hedgehog for a walk in the fields having rescued it from the road which meant I've done very little at work this morning.

My washing is blowing on the line and I've had my first cup of coffee in a week, delicious it was too.

Yesterday got better and better as the day went on.

Spent ages weeding, so long in fact that I was quite late going back to work much to the bosses amusement. Unearthed the fruit bushes which are dripping with small immature blackcurrants already. Disccovered we'd missed quite a few of last years spuds so have 20 or so unexpected potato plants, the strawberries have gone mad and are covered in flowers and the rhubarb is huge, despite having picked loads a couple of weeks back.

DD1 came home with her school report which was positively outstanding. Full of excellents and positive remarks about her work and attitude. Best of all shes leapt up almost a level and a half on her primary school scores which is a huge achievement. Told her she could choose anything she liked as a gift from us providing it didn't breathe, poo or plug in. So no pony, guinea pig, rabbit, mouse, Ipad, Ipod, Kindle or mobile phone. Poor kid even tried for Facebook access and was denied. Will wait and see what she comes up with. We tried to be helpful with our suggestions but it seems she doesn't want a milling machine or a spinning wheel or toilet cleaner.

Am now wide awake in the wee small hours. Too hot to sleep and theres far too much going on outside to go back to bed. Have been sat in the garden listening to the owls and watching the bats flit about. Going to have half an hours blissful knitting and then whizz out to do a spot more gardening as soon as its light enough to see what I'm doing.

Me too up with the lark - well like you the owls - we have one with a speech impediment and once you are awake you cant help but listen! So just been pottering about and wrapping up Ebay parcels - why does sellotape may so much noise at dawn! Caught up on your thread and your blog. Glad to hear you feeling better and can eat normally - well is chocolate and marshmallow pizza normal:rotfl:

:j for clever girls. My DD2 did well in her end of year exams so we said she could have something for her efforts. First choice another cat - no. Second choice a paif of shorts that wouldn't pass being knickers IMHO so that was also a no. She settled with her third choice a red ukelele:rotfl: I wish the parents of the 6 year olds I work with would say no to their children a little more often - most have facebook accounts:eek: Our community police officer was talking to a group of year 2 yesterday about the dangers of the internet and she was amazed so many used facebook - amazed in a naiive sort of way which was even more worrying!

Had a go at spinning myself once - friend of mine was very talented in this area - that and weaving, but couldn't knit! I managed a whole Jacob fleece from a magnificent specimen called Harold. The result I would describe as 'industrial' and I knitted it up into a large rug for want of a better description - still in use in the shed to 'protect' things:rotfl: Its the one and only time I did it - not my thing and knackered my fingers.

Hope that shed arrives soon :)
