Have a great rest of day!!!!!I plan to, for the rest of the week will be a painkiller filled haze.
Haven't heard from you in ages, I thought you'd dropped off the face of the planet or found a series of books that occupy your every waking moment. That happened to me once with the rather delectable James Fraser, the swoon worthy lead of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series....... squeeeee and I've just discovered shes mid way through writing another one which will explain my week or so long absence in early 2013. Start with Outlander (which was also released as Cross Stitch) and get carried away from there. Can't praise her highly enough. It has everything. Sex, more sex, history, faries, a fabulous plot and the sort of kilt wearing intelligent muscular hero that leaves you daydreaming. Unfortunately it has the downside of making you read just one more chapter whilst using matchsticks to prop up your eyelids and suddenly its dawn before you know it.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Did a spot more garden masacring yesterday resulting in two overflowing wheelie bins.
Finally got round to Ebaying long after I should have been in bed, only 3 items but the three most likely to sell. Will bung the others on for 99p at some point in the not too distant future.
Joined the two sides of the jumper hood together but couldn't face sewing in ends. Will get that done over the next couple of days to free up a bit more space. Managed a bit more of the wrap knitalong, if I stretch it a little I've managed the minimum required to call last weeks homework complete. Seem to have gained a couple of stitches along the way which is most unlike me. Will have to figure out wheres best to loose them.
Did two more loads of laundry and cleared the ironing pile and the sock mountain. Chucked a few more things in the cash for clothes pile. Still have the OHs wardrobe to wade through. Hes got so much stuff crammed in there that the ironed stuff comes out wrinklier than it went in. Thats a fun project for the morning.
After that I need to get my bum in gear and do all the stuff that I'm not going to fancy doing later on in the week. Planning to take it easy for the first couple of days post surgery although as the surgeon helpfully pointed out I can go back to work the same day (not chuffing likely) and because its done under a local I can drive myself there and back (equally daft idea) although I won't feel like eating for a few days.... humph. I get very grumpy when I don't eat.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Whizzed through OHs wardrobe. Ditched the vast majority of last years issue of uniform. Whilst I was on a roll I made a star on the underbed drawers and unearthed some curtains. Have changed the hideously faded ones downstairs for a calming cream... yes I know they'll be covered in mud splats before the day is out. For the mo its an oasis of tranquil minimalism, of course you need quite a vivid imagination to see that through the carp. Its made the room look much bigger and brighter.
Am now up to four bags of fabric and shoes for the cash for clothing place. Will tackle the towel store next and ditch the holey ones now that the hound has stopped trying to steal my towel as I exit the shower. Fortunately I still have a drawer full of new towels that we were given as wedding gifts almost a decade and a half ago.
Aiming for £20s worth of tat which means ditching 40kg of stuff. Not convinced the DDs have grown that much though.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Its 3am and I'm wide awake, not through choice I might add. The drugs I took before bed have worn off, this is probably a good thing as I've spent the night dreaming about flamenco dancing handbags. I have handbags on the brain.
Yesterdays surgery went better than expected. After many dire warnings about all the possible complications I seemed to get away quite likely. My face is puffy and sore but my teeth aren't wobbly and none have fallen out overnight which is always good. The OH and my boss have completely ignored me and so I've been instructed to have most of today off work too as well as a day off next week to have the stitches out as thats done under a local as well. Stupidly I feel fine, other than a passing resemblence to the Staypuft Marshmallow Man .
Came home to an e-mail about the handbag compteition which I had to reread. Turns out it was about another handbag competition which I appear to have been rather successful with too. Its been a bit of a surreal day. Thinking I should buy a lottery ticket whilst I'm on a roll, after all these things are supposed to happen in threes.
Managed to get loads done yesterday prior to surgery in order to take my mind off things. Means I didn't feel at all guilty about spending an afternoon and most of the evening on the sofa knitting. My wrap is progressing v. nicely and the house is remarkably tidy too.
The OH is clucking round like a mother hen. I figured I'd try porridge for dinner on account of having a fuzzy feeling face with a barely opening mouth. I was presented with a plate of fish and chips. Lovely though they smelt they weren't the easiest thing to eat.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
