Gave in and went shopping yesterday for the first time in ages. Food stocks had reached crisis point by which I mean we were down to the dregs of the coffee pot. We could live without everything else which is just as well because we'd run out of pretty much everything. I could have given Old Mother Hubbard a run for her money. I'd like to claim it was all in the name of money saving but quite frankly I couldn't be arsed to go shopping. I hate it with a passion.
Went to the nearest supermarket via the farmstore for a months worth of chook food and doggie chow. £25 later thats them sorted for a while.
Moving swiftly on to the supermarket I grabbed the smallest trolley available to make sure I didn't get carried away. This guaranteed the whoopsie shelves were chocablock with goodies so much creative stacking was required. Left the store with 4kg of cat biscuits (£3), 8kg of spuds (76p), 1.5kg of steak (£7), 6kg of assorted posh sausages (£8), enough cereals, milk, clothes washing liquid and wotnot to last at least a fortnight and a bill for £44 and a rather staggering 775 Clubcard points. Filled the car with gogo juice which hopefully means I can avoid the civilised world for quite some time.
A decent nights sleep hasn't exactly worked wonders on my hair. Will visit the village barbers this afternoon to see if they can work miracles. At least they'll see the funny side unlike the laydees salon who will snigger and then point out that they don't have a free appointment slot for a millennium and will require an arm and a leg to butcher the salvageable bits of hair.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Hello, Moo. I've been suffering from diary agoraphobia - I daren't leave mine because everybody else's left me feeling inadequate. I've been in therapy and given myself a good talking to and tentatively ventured out today. Yours is the first diary I've looked at ... and now I want to go scampering back home again!
I've only skimmed because I have work to do (horrible work, which may have helped with the decision to mooch around the diaries), but you're out of debt (huuuuuuuge congratulations - blooming marvellous and well deserved), and you have completed all these fabulous knitty things. I started thinking about knitting again at the same time as you did, and I have yet to reach my heady goal of completing (or even starting) a dish cloth. How embarrassing.
I noticed something about alpacas - I've been looking at these gorgeous animals recently (pictures of, haven't got to meet any in the flesh yet). Are you actually getting some? Or have you got some?
Have I missed anything else exciting?
PS I am not envious of your purple highlights.
"Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Excitement? well if a spinning wheel is classed as exciting then yes siree bob my life is heaving with excitement. Otherwise no. Same old same old.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Rudely interupted by someone elses parcel delivery. Bah.
Sadly no alpaccas although I'd really like some I can't face with forking out a grand or so an animal. I'll stick to hoping that the freind of a friend who keeps alpaccas will sell me some fleece which means I get all the perks with none of the hassle.
Had an interesting day today. Spent it decluttering at work. Managed to fill four wheelie bins from a single room which really wasn't that untidy to start with, nor did I think it had that much in it. After that I erected a carnival of mirrors and was treated to fish and chips by the boss. Unfortunately I have to go back in later on to do all the stuff I didn't get round to doing earlier in the week and I have holiday club to clean. Still it adds another tenner to the spinning wheel fund.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
