Moo thats beautiful. Perfect for a summer evening too.

It is exciting for you to see the final hurdle. The prospect of solid savings and money to spend on what you want is a great incentive to get their as quick as you can. Well done to you :)

Know the feeling about things breaking this week. I had a few minor upsets too. Will be in the utility room today washing and ironing. I am so excited :):):):). Aye right :)

Five paydays is realistic which co-incides nicely with the start of the school summer holidays and all the expense that entails. I guess we're going to get incredibly close by June and then yo-yo in and out of debt over the summer before being totally and utterly debt free by October. If it happens sooner its an added bonus.

Had no sleep again. THis time thanks to the local police force depositing every car they own just beyond our house with lights flashing at 2am. 20 minutes later they were joined by a helicopter and search light and took turns to randomly driving around fields and shine torches anywhere and everywhere including around our house and garden which the hound from hell was most vocal about. Can only assume some inconsiderate !!!!!! legged it down one of the many footpaths having first crashed his car on the very bendy road. Just as I was dropping back off a tow truck arrived to collect the car. Am now totaly and utterly kettled and most glad I don't have to drive anywhere today as I'm far too tired to concentrate.

Plans for today are minimal at best. Fortunately I got lots done yesterday in anticipation of a very laid back weekend.

Much surfing later have decided to make the jumper in Cygnet Superwash which is almost sensibly priced machine washable 100% non-itchy Merino wool and is also worsted weight rather than dk which is simply perfect. Can't find it for any less than £2.50 per 50g ball.... and I can't make up my mind about colours which doesn't help things, although I'm leaning towards blueberry. Think I'll need 15 balls which is a rather scary £37.50.

Thats serious stuff Moo. You are quite rural too. They must have been up no good if there was a helicopter around. I am sure you are exhausted. £37.50 is expensive but it is sounds very luxurious.

Hope you get a bit of a rest over the weekend:)

A bit too luxurious. Found some at £2.20 a ball but then the what ifs started. What if I balls it up and DD1 ends up with it... what if I hate the colour not having seen it in person.... what if its far too clingy and I never have the balls to wear it......

Soooooo am going to be most predictably dull and knit it in reasonable acrylic yarn first. That way if I get the size right and I wear it I can make another in something splurge worthy and if not it won't be the end of the world.

Besides which I can change my mind a gazillion times more before I comit to buying anything as I'm light years away from finishing the stripey coat.

Sensible move moo. You are a very gifted knitter. Was visiting my mam yesterday and thought of you.:):):)

She has her (your) owl tea-cosy out on display and loves it. So I was telling her all about you and what you knit etc. She was a superb knitter all her life but has some arthritis now in her fingers ... no wonder with all the knitting she done.

I don't remember a night that I didn't watch my gran and mam knit as their work would be collected at the end of the week and they would receive a pittance. Mostly aran jumpers and cardigans and I would have to 'roll the wool' that was delivered. Cannot believe that I haven't any inclination to tackle even the simplest item.

You are now so very close to df day Moo, well done to you :)

Weather was glorious so we headed off ridiculously early Saturday morning to spend the weekend with t'other Grandparents. Had a fab time. Walked miles and miles and miles, played in the park, paddled in the fountains in Bradfords Centenary Square, scoffed raterh too much at an al you can eat CHinese buffet and arived home just in time for bed. Knackered but v. happy. Need to do this much more frequently as my dad is getting old fast.

Made the most of the wrinklies snoring on the sofa from 7:30pm onwards by reading a book and doing rather a lot of knitting. Vaguely on track with the coat. Made the mistake of trying it on. Its far too clingy for my liking. Unless miracles happen over the next couple of weeks DD1 is going to end up with that as well. Ruthlessly cleared out all my unsold knitted stuff and donated them to Granny for a charity auction. Not seling enough to be worth going to the Country Market so I'm seriously considering quitting after the next one. I'll have been doing it for 10 months at that point which is long enough to prove that unless you're baking its simply not viable.
