please do continue your diary.. really enjoyed reading it... You have a great sense of humour and I think that will keep you going :)x
  • I did that this morning and came up as the social elite, it seems only cos I know a uni lecturer and go to museums!

such a pain about the boiler. Things like cars and boilers can be a REAL nightmare when getting debt free.

Just wanted to say you are not a failure. To stick with it all is impressive in itself and to have paid off 10 grand is amazing

I'm about to do this now and I will be very disappointed if I'm anything other than working class :D

    Result:

    New affluent workers

This class group is sociable, has lots of cultural interests and is in the middle of all the class groups in terms of wealth. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:
    • Are young
    • Come from a working class background
    • Own their own home
I suppose that's not so bad lol

Haha I'm not sure where the affluent thing came from either - it's certainly not me! :D

Wow, just read your diary and didn't want to read and run.

Good luck on your journey, it's quite heart rending reading of your struggles - and endurance

Just read your diary, good luck on your journey you are doing amazingly and are inspiring. I have subscribed :) I know it's not easy living with the cutbacks/budgets I will be struggling for many years yet, dh is a definite ostrich with peter pan syndrome so ours is a self managed debtplan as he wont speak to anyone, so I write letters and he signs them :)
Anyway the reason for posting was do you have a LETS (local exchange trading schemes) group near you? We have a good one i have been a member for over 10years! Its great we have a directory of services and items wanted or for sale, plus we meet once a month and trade think of a carboot sale where no sterling is needed we have our own currency, one of the services I have used regularly is a local mobile hairdresser I pay her petrol in sterling but her skill is paid for using our currency:) and the other bonus is our monthly meeting is also a collection point for our local credit union. Both schemes are great if you have to watch every penny.

I love your diary - you write so well, I think you are brilliant Ruby! the shed sounds fab. Especially when a shop bought one cost about 800 quid - to have it put up too.

have you thought about a blog? especially about the garden?

    big hugs and take care.
