Congratulations Lara, sounds like you (and everyone else) had a really fab day.

And congratulations on finishing work Flower, when is your little one due again? I have October in my head but not sure if I'm confusing you with someone I know in 'real life'.

Is Michelle Williams the one who used to be in Dawson's Creek or am I getting confused?

Glad your OH hasn't been involved in the riots too Wendz, must be a worry for him if his colleagues are caught up in them.

Swim up room sounds great Cinny! Only a little bit jealous!

Tink, will have to sneak on dooyoo later and try to suss out who you are, haven't been on for ages!

Off to a rubbish start today, just found out we are being taken to tribunal by an ex employee, don't think he has much chance but if they do award him anything it could well put us under :( he was a really horrible man as well, only worked here for 5 weeks.

It was the Holiday Village in Tunisia I liked first, but then it's still under a SOE so wouldn't feel all too comfortable going! Then OH used his brain and searched for Holiday Villages and wham. It's lovely :D Your hotel for London looks great too Birdie, very posh! Hope you manage to get tickets to see Kate's dress. (I feel so weird calling someone else Kate. I have to think 'no, it's not my dress!')

Shrimpy - Hopefully with him just being there for 5 weeks he won't hold much ground? I know the feeling though, years ago when we had to let some people go it was horrible in the Office on the court days, just waiting to hear what the hell was going to happen. Hope it goes as well as it can.

I get like that too Cinny, I never had a problem with having to share my name until a certain Swedish popstar came on the scene, yesterday we were in a shop and a music video came on and OH said, 'Eugh! Robyn!' and I was really confused and upset until I realised that it wasn't me he was hating on! :)

That sucks about the tribunal Shrimpy, I wouldn't think he'd have a case if he'd only been there 5 weeks, don't new starters have a 3 month probation period and can be let go if it's not working out? That's how it works at my place at least...

Michelle Williams is indeed the one from Dawsons Creek. :)

Ahh, congrats Mrs Lara! Can't wait to see pics - I guess you managed ok in the dress in the end?

Know what you mean about the names - I hate other people with my name, "YOU'RE not Lucy, I'M Lucy!" Worst thing is, my friend's sister called her baby Lucy, so she's Little Lucy and I by default have to be Big Lucy! Thanks for that. Is it better than Old Lucy? I don't know!

Must shoot off, seems the colleague who left a couple of weeks ago left a lot of things unfinished and now I'm having to run about clearing up his mess even though it's not me who's taken over his role, because everyone else is on holiday. Not to mention the fact I have a million and one things on myself and I'm on hols next week so it all needs to get done! Grrrrr!

Ditto on the name thing, although I'm only 5'3 (and somehow look smaller) so by default I'm always Little Sue. Not many people my age or younger have my name though, I think Sue is a bit of a middle aged lady name! Apologies if I've offended any fellow Sues out there!

The tribunal man was still on probation but from what I can gather they will usually hear most cases on the basis that everyone deserves a hearing of some sort. He went through grievance proceedings before he left (as I think he knew we were about to let him go) and I had to take the minutes, it was so hard having to bite my tongue whilst he rattled off a bunch of lies about me and my employers! Its only quite a small firm so hard not to take it personally, but there's no point letting it get to me as thats exactly what he wants. Thanks for your kind words ladies :)

I hope you get to see the dress too Birdie, that would excite me a lot!

One bonus for me and the RW was as a 'Kate' my name was on everything, and some places were giving Kates and Williams free cr*p. Not that I got any, but I do have a mug declaring William loves me. Which I think is quite nice. One thing I found weird until recently was it never clicked me and Kate Moss have the same name. And I wonder why OH says I'm brain dead most of the time :rotfl:

Urgh, seems like the guy going against your company is a bit of a snake Shrimpy! I remember one of the guys trying to take us to the cleaners asked for 15k in his 'package' so he could buy a new car because my Dad was kind enough to let our guys use the work vans to get too and from work. That still really grinds me when I think about it! The best part is our work vans only cost something like 8k each - where he got 15k from is beyond me! Some people are just out for whatever they can get.

Congratulations Lara, sounds like you all had a brilliant day :) Can't wait to see some pics!

Shrimpy, how horrid about the tribunal, I hope it gets sorted quickly and in favour of your employer. I think it is more difficult in small organisations - when I was made redundant from my last job, I took it very personally - how could you not?

Where are you moving to Shrimpy? Sunnier climes?

I'm fortunate in that I don't come across many people with the same name as me, but I'm pretty sure I'd hate it if I did. It's bad enough that people call me Georgina or Georgie - that's not my name!

Tete, maybe you could cultivate the use of Birdie's (very apt) SuperLucy among your friends. Better than Old Lucy for sure :rotfl:

Ooh, nice hotels, girls! I hope you do get to see THE dress, Birdie, can you just queue on the day?

Cinny, you must be itching to get your mitts on that cheque! Swim up room sounds super exciting :D

ETA: I sold my two things on eBay at the weekend and one of my books, so that's about £20 towards the challenge. Slow and steady, right?

I expolited the wedding freebies for my friend's bridal shower as she's a Kat so found plenty of things with K's and crowns on, everyone thought I was so clever... when it was all already done for me! ;)

Can't believe what people do to get money out of companies... the only reason they get sacked in the first place is for being useless! Blimmin' cheek, trying to get a car! I feel for employers really as they get stuck with people they could do without because once probation is over they can't get rid unless the person does something really bad! The annoying guy on my team is a case in point, he's useless at his job, no-one likes him, he gets everyone's back up so none of the project managers actually want to use him, turns out he embellished his CV and doesn't know half the stuff he claimed and now we're stuck with him unless he fails a drugs test/steals from the company/dies... and then I'll get the sack for being the one who killed him! ;)

ETA: Missed a few replies there! Glad you had a good night Zig and whoo whoo to the kiss! ;)

Going to ring up for tickets on my lunch break, you can't queue as there are only so many tickets and they're timed, I'm having to go through an independant ticket agent as B.Palace have none left! Didn't realise it'd be so difficult!

The riots are mental. Glad OH hasn't had to be involved in any of it yet, he did have a missed call at 4 am sunday morning though from work wanting him to go in! Why people think being violent is going to solve anything I don't know.

Was thinking of you last night and wondering if your OH had been involved, glad to hear he hasnt. I really dont understand some people, because obviously hurting innocent police officers who are doing their job is really going to solve everything isnt it (wheres the roly eye smilie when you need it!?).

Thank you everyone for the kind words :)
Birdie love the idea of cowboy themed nursery! Even though we know we're having a boy, we're still going for something quite neutral. I suspect OH will drag his brother round to help with the painting!
I feel bad pestering OH to do it as he only has 4 days off work this month due to all the overtime he is doing. He works 12 hour shifts but by the time he has travelled to and from work he is out the house 14/15 hours a day.

Also, cant believe I forgot! Looking forward to seeing the pics Lara!!
