Huge congrats on the job Tink. You must be thrilled :)

Not surprised you are a bit nervous Cinny - I would be too!

I haven't heard from Zig and don't think I have seen many updates on FB either. Hope you are okay Zig.

Tete - are you okay? Hope we haven't scared you off since we told you to go travelling and see a life coach yesterday!

    Morning Birdie!

I worked out my expenses yesterday and they came to £374:eek: Delighted to be getting them back but they will go towards a double buggy, along with the savings from creche (Max is going down to 2 days a week from Sept) and OH's overtime. The good thing is that thge buggy won't go on the credit card and whatever we make from the sale of Max's buggy can go off OH's credit card.

Have you looked at prams/buggies yet Flower?

I've been missing Zig too, maybe she's skipped off on a last minute holiday or something? Or she hates all of us :(

Happy Tattoo Day Cinny! Make sure you do sit still when you're getting it done or it'll come out wobbly! ;) Bummer about the blood though, they usually struggle with me too and it's a painful experience! It's normally easier in summer though as I'm warm so my veins are closer to the surface. My friend's a funny one when she goes because she's got really short arms (well, short everything really!) and they can never fit the cuff around her upper arm, she has to get the narrow belt of shame! :)

I've been looking at the Hemnes stuff for our bedroom, I really like the Birkeland stuff which looks quite similar but it's all too big (and pricier than the Hemnes) so I just now have to convince OH that white furniture will be a good thing. Normally I'm not a lover, but I think if it's nice (not too cheap looking) it looks good in bedrooms as it's bright, clean and neutral. I'm also sick of having several different woods all over the place, can't go wrong matching white!

I am a huge fan of white bedroom furniture. When we do buy again I am going to furnish my bedroom in white furniture and duck egg blue wallpaper like this one: http://www.lauraashley.com/wallpaper/erin-floral-wallpaper/invt/erinwp/

I want it to have a contemporary French look - all floaty and tranquil. Which is the opposite to my personality really!

Oh no, we have the Hemnes in grey-brown. I had to go check when you said white, I thought 'Owwwh, sh*t. I've said the wrong name!' We have this (I have the right side :D) and then the wardrobe, obviously. I do love white, french style but when we moved into our own place we got swept along with a squishy, dark, cosier feel. Although the fresher brighter colours are relaxing and cosy in their own way, I best say!

I'm only nervous for the pain, I know how much it hurt on my wrist once the numbing cream wore off. I'm hoping that I'm building the pain up to near death in my head so when it actually happens I can think 'oh, it's not that bad!' I'll never be one of those 'I like the feeling' people. It's just like; What's wrong with you?!?!

She hasn't been on twitter much either, not that she was crazy tweeting constantly like me. Maybe she's just taking a big internet break. Hopefully she'll read this, feel bad, and reply. mwahaha!

Morning all, no you didn't scare me off CMD, just had a bit of a busy afternoon and a gym session. I feel a bit better today but only because I'm not really thinking about it all. I get on OK when I just plod on, it's thinking about the bigger picture of where my life's heading that I get a bit overwhelmed - like Poddle said:

I think it's normal to be a bit scared when your life is naturally heading in one direction (defined by a career, relationship, whatever) so when you have the opportunity to choose a path, where the chuff do you start?!

It's so true. Yes the idea of travelling is tempting, although I'd rather be doing it with someone - none of my friends are in a position to do it and I think it'd be lonely on my own - I'm not the sort of person who can walk up to a group of strangers in a youth hostel and make friends.

There's also the fact that it it wouldn't actually solve anything - I'd still have to come back sometime (not necessarily I know but realistically I probably will) and I'll be in the same position, but with no job and a few years older, it's just a bit too much like running away at the moment for me. I went off to Spain for a few months a few years ago when I was feeling a bit like this, and yeah I had a brilliant time and came home with a bit of a plan of what I wanted to do, and achieved quite a lot in that year, then met ex and was happy to just 'be' - going on holidays and looking forward to the weekends. In all honesty, it sounds very sad and sappy, but that's all I've ever really wanted, someone to share my life with. Seems to be the only thing I can never quite hold down :( I was happy how I was you know, so it's hard to think about what I want now.

I like that dress Tete! its not for me (im waaay too short) but can imagine it looking fab on you!! why hide those super toned runners/climbers legs though!!?

Ha not really! Still have a bad case of the wibblybums and my legs are so white they're see-though :D Thanks for thinking of me with the codes - I want to try it on in store as it might not be long enough, and I'll be able to get my 10% student discount anyway :money:

BRILLIANT NEWS about the job! Best of luck with it, and finding a place.

Zig is OK, I've been in touch with her - she's been a bit busy with a house move, graduation and a couple of trips away. I think she's doing remarkably well. Men are such idiots if they can't see what they have.

I've spent the last hour or so choosing DVDs on LoveFilm - thanks Birdie! Really want to see Blue Valentine and Submarine so hopefully they'll send them before the trial's up :)

Anyone who's friends with me on FB might have seen that I found a dead spider floating about in my Crunchy Nut Cornflakes last night, must have got into the cupboard and into the packet and not been able to get out  I almost vommed and then thought, I'm having such a run of bad luck at the moment, I'm BOUND to with the Euromillions this week, but nada :(

What else did I want to say? Birdie, good news that there's no contract at the gym - are you going to give it a go? At the rounders make sure you don't let go of the bat when you swing it - kids always used to do that at school - lethal!

Nice expenses CMD, it's nice that you can say they paid for something tabgible like a buggy. Reminds me I have a £16 petrol claim to put in :D

Hope the tatt's not too painful Cinny - you must show us as soon as it looks ok enough!! You've made me want one :o

The Hemnes things are nice :) I keep seeing these IKEA (Malm?) dressing table things on ebay, it's a really long table with one long shallow drawer which has all little compartments - I want one for a sewing table!

I love that style CMD but I doubt OH would ever go for it! We had arguments about the bedroom when we first moved in and had to settle on green as the accent colour as it wasn't too girly! We popped into Next after Ikea last night and they've got some gorgeous purple stuff, and lots of peacock feather patterns! Lush! Again, he'll think it's all a bit gay so it'll be a no-no! I'd love to have my own little granny flat at the end of the garden (if we actually had a house with a garden rather than living in a flat the size of said granny flat!) that I could decorate as girly and gay as I'd like without repercussions!

Just got some good news from my manager, it's my 6 month review in a couple of weeks and I'll be getting a £1.5k payrise in my September payslip! Whoop whoop! Then it'll go up by the same amount again in March, whoop whoop again! Very happy Birdie today! :D

Fantastic new about the payrise. That amount is not to be sniffed at! The only reason I will get away with a floaty bedroom is because OH is a drummer and will need a drum room at the end of the garden. He would be so ecstatic to have his own place for his music that there is no way he could start dictating what the bedroom looked like!

Glad you feel a bit better today Tete. The only reason I suggested travelling is because I thought it was something you wanted to do, so best to do it and not regret it.

Oooh I missed a bit there, must be too slow! :)

I haven't been on FB since Monday night so hadn't seen the update about the spider! Ewwww! Are you going out to buy plastic cereal boxes with air-tight lids today?!

It's good to know that Zig's OK, just busy! :) Men really are dead-heads if they don't realise what fantastic girls they have (that's you and Zig obviously Tete!). Just want to send a lovely big squishy hug your way too because it sounds like you need one!

Think I will be joining the gym, OH already goes so might be able to get an even better joint deal, have sent him to investigate!

    YES!

Brilliant news about the payrise, wow! We get like £200 at a time, you barely notice it over 12 months

Maybe that chintzy granny flat will be yours after all!

    Sorry for the absence!! I don't hate any of you - you're all lovely. :D I am alive [STRIKE]and well.[/STRIKE] :p

I have been insanely busy, which I suppose is a good thing really. Graduation was much better than I expected! I have been having an emotional week so not brilliant. But I am about to ring the visa people to sort my visa for Australia! I'm excited :DTete, the offer is completely there for you to come with me.. I'm going on my own and I'm terrified but I know there'll be other people on their own and I can join in with other little groups of travellers.

Congratulations on the payrise Birdie! That's brilliant news! Same with the expenses CMD. Yay for extra money!

Cinny I can't wait to see your tattoo! Well done for at least trying to give blood! It's on my list of things to do actually.

Congratulations Tink on the new job! Fab news.

Hope the dissertation writing isn't too boring Ruby. I don't envy you at all! I'm so glad that uni chapter of my life is over.

I bet Rio carnival would be amazing Archers, hope you manage to get a legit ticket!
