Hello Zig! So nice to hear from you!
Wowzers, Australia! How exciting! When are you going and for how long?!
Payrise is only that much because I'm on a trainee program so it gets reviewed and bumped up every 6 months, after that I'll be on the standard below inflation yearly payrise, 1.5% this year which would only work out at £270 over the year.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Thanks Birdie! I'm going in February I think, open ended ticket so I'll play it by ear how long I go for. I might travel for a month or so in Oz and NZ and then I might rent a place in Sydney as I have a family member there and work for a bit. That's my vague plan!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Oh wow Zig - will you teach there? I don't have any skillz, I would end up waitressing! Unless I did a TEFL/EFL/ESL..... Though I don't think they let many people in who don't speak English!
Just saved £15 on my airport parking thanks to a lovely MSEr's code :money:, will put it towards the Challenge (or maybe towards the dress, will have to see)

Argh zig that is so exciting, you'll have a blast. I've just spent a month on the east coast so shout if you want any advice. I loved Sydney! Jealous!

Tete you could sell stuffed owls and knitting bags on the beach for beer money!
I've never been so can offer no advice, just blind excitement on your behalf!
Told OH about my payrise and we had a little jump around the kitchen. My friend is awful to her OH because she earns more than him and we always joke about it so told him that I'm going to have to lay some grouNd rules now that I'm going to be the 'big earner'! :rotfl:

Do Aussies like knitting?
Seems OH whould be taking on extra housework seeing as you're the breadwinner now, and that doesn't mean just shoving everything in your craft room and closing the door!
No nice dresses in my carpy branch of Warehouse, now I want it more than ever! Gah!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hi Everyone
Congrats on the payrises/extra monies!
I would love to go travelling! Focussing on paying my debts at the mo but my new OH wants to go travelling too, even if it's just something we do for a month once a year for a few years before we settle down it will be amazing. I don't know the background on your situation Tete but if you have the opportunity to go with someone (Zig) then go for it. Yes you might have stuff to come back to, but it might give you perspective like when you said you went away last time and who knows, you might meet a nice Australian
A couple of you were talking about Lovefilm cashback the other day. I did the free trial to get the cashback a couple of months ago but I have since moved so I'm wondering if I can do it again under a different address and email. Only thing is it will be on the same cashback site. Reckon I could pull it off?£9,000 (Ish) in 2013

Cakelover I signed up to under the same name and address using a new email. Quidco are doing £15 cashback as well as the other cb site someone mentioned yesterday (very vague but if you go back a few posts it'll be there), or just signing up to LF without going via a cashback site you can use Birdie's code for a £20 Amazon voucher - so plenty of options, and i think as long as you use a new email they'll think you're a new customer.
I am thinking about the Oz thing ... funny Cakelover, looking at your sig, I watched an old Derren Brown thing last night on the impact of negative thinking on your life, so I want to try and be more of a positive 'can-do' person. How's it going for you , any tips?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

You should think about it very seriously Tete. Feb is a good way off, enough time to save up etc.
Just make a list of what is keeping you here and then one of the pros of going!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
