Ah, I didn't think of opening a whole new cashback account, that might be an idea. I was just going to use the same account but use a different address and email when I go through to Lovefilm. I did see the one on Quidco but it said you had to fully complete the free trial so was a bit worried about being charged.
Not sure I am doing too well on the positive thinking thing Tete, maybe I am doing better than I think? For me it is partly about worrying less (I'm a great worrier!) and to try not to think of the worst possible outcome of stuff. I just want to live life a bit more and I think worrying less will help with that. What was the Derren Brown thing you watched?

It's such a great sig though. How is the debt busting going?

Aww thanks CMD :D I'm trying to keep positive about stuff. I don't have anything bad going on in my life, I'm just great at worrying and seeing the bad side of things. Since I've been with my new OH though I've been feeling a lot more excited about the future, his the one! :j
Debtbusting isn't going too bad. Trying to find some ways to make cash other than cashback site, mystery shopping and surveys (not that I've had any survey payouts yet). Need to get my butt into gear for Ebaying and selling my stuff. Have started the clearout! Managed to put another £1000 on my cards in recent months due to some things that happened but I'm back on the straight and narrow now, I think. I really want it all paid off by the end of the year but I need to find £4k more! :rotfl:

I try to worry more... but I'm too lazy! :p

I never knew there was an age limit on Australian Visas! Crikey they don't make it easy do they!

I have a friend who I think really needs MSE in her life, she split with her OH before Christmas and he moved out of their flat so she's paying the mortgage and bills herself (and she earns less than I do and I don't think I'd manage so no idea how she does), she's redecorated the whole place with lovely brand new furniture and now she's bought a new car, admitting it was a 'little' over her budget, but 'What the heck, life's for living so I just got a loan', when I asked how much over budget she said £10k! She must be up to about £15k of debt now, with no interest in paying it off. Even I'd be able to worry about that! _pale_

His whole back catalogue is on 4OD - it's the Trick or Treat one where he tells the girl not to press the button or she'll electrocute the kitten. He keeps reiterating that she MUSN'T press the button then leaves her in the room for just two minutes, and a £500 prize if she doesn't press it, but she can't help herself even though she's a cat lover (the kitten was OK, it was just a trick). The experiment itself doesn't have a lot to do with helping you to think positively but he did keep saying about the detrimental effect of negative thoughts and it made me ponder a bit.

Remember if you sign up to a new cashback site, they'll take the £5 admin fee (whatever it is for whichever site you use).

Oh dear Birdie - it's that kind of person who makes me glad I had my small amount of debt a few years ago and managed to pay it off OK - you can see how easily it can spiral out of control, especially if you're feeling low. I do look around sometimes at people my age in similar jobs who seem to have so much stuff - mortgages, nice cars, fancy holidays... I used to wonder how they did it but actualy I think I know. I never spent my debt money on anything so interesting - it was all booze and cheesy chips - all I got was a beer gut! :D

Ooh, bet Cinny's under the needle now/possibly done? - hope she's ok!

Yeah they will for Quidco. I don't think they do for Topcashback? Maybe I better check that out in case they have changed it?
Will have to check out 4OD!

LOL Tete, my debt's pretty much the same! And LOL at Shrimpy's change of face! :p

I think that my Mum gave me a bad mental attitude towards it all when I was younger TBH, if I saw something I liked (usually designer as Mum has expensive tastes and wouldn't go shopping with me in the cheap shops!) she'd offer to buy it and let me pay it back over a few months. My very first credit card of sorts! She never said, 'Save up and buy it when you can afford it' or 'Let's find a cheaper version' so it never occured to me! I've learned my lesson now! I really wish my parents had taught me better though, although what did I expect, my Dad's business went bankrupt about 5 years ago and when my Nana died my Mum used £5k of her inheritance to pay off her Visa! :o

The debt or the gut?! :p Cleared both of mine (thank you running - you're hard work but effective!) so at least I can smile about it now haha!

My parents are the opposite Birdie - neither of them have ever had any credit except the mortgage and even that they kept a small one, not understanding why their friends would want to pay £80-90k for a four bedroomed detached house (those were the days eh?). I was never allowed branded things (my kingdom for a pair of Reebok trainers when I was ten!!) My Dad thinks I'm so extravagant now if I spend £3 on a coffee in Starbucks or something. It has probably given me quite a healthy attitude to money, I have more expensive tastes than my parents definitely but I always make the effort to get the expensive stuff as cheap as I can!

Not sure about TCB cakelover, I only use Quidco. I'm sure Martin will have a guide somewhere?

I think once you get it before your 31st birthday you are fine.

My visa is confirmed! I just spoke to them and asked about you Tete, and CMD is right. As long as you get it before your 31st then you're fine :)

Wow that was quick! Brilliant now you have something to aim for - oh yes you'll be needing a bikini body alright if you want to attract Scott Michaelson ;) You prob don't even remember Brad n Beth on Neighbours do you? And woohoo to being 18 months away from being past it in the eyes of Australian immigration! You're a sweetie to ask for me :)

Just been sorting my altercations with the law, they only offer you one speed course so I'll be getting 3 points but it's better than six! And while I was digging about in my purse for my licence I found a tenner squirrelled away in a forgotten compartment! No idea what it's doing there but am pleased - that never happens!

Off to look at Cinny on Twitter, than a slog around the park :(

Edit - yikes it looks sore! Can't wait to see it when it's healed though - were you a big brave soldier Cinny?
