Had my hair cut, hairdresser said was in pretty good condition considering 6 months since last cut. Left poppy with OH and they turned up at the hairdressers and her little eyes were all red from crying...oh dear!0 -
Oh no! Has she been apart from you before?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

She has been with OH a coupleof times while i have been to dentist and things and left her with my mum once for a couple of hours. Is very tricky as she won't drink out a bottle and i think is now going through the seperation anxiety stage. Will ahve to get her used to it before i go back to work though.0

Shoot, I just lost my long post:o.
Dinah, NIM, here you are:
We became debt free yesterday, after paying £33k off in 14 months. 3 things worked for us:
1) We decided to pay off £2k every month even though we only had £1700 for debt busting. The idea actually came from you, remember diary 1 and 2? When you paid off more daily than your actual salary was? We worked so hard to get the extra £300 in and only failed one month. Our average worked out as £2369 a month. I still wonder how we did it.
2) Whenever our salary arrived on our account, we made a payment towards the loan. OH got his on the 17th, loan payment went out on the 18th, mine came on the 30st, loan went out the very next day. We each left £80 on our account to last us till pay day. Never went overdraft.
3) Holidays: it's a big thing for us, we can't function without them. We went for long weekends to Porto, Berlin, and Vienna, had 7 days in Tenerife and 7 days in Greece. Our budget was £2k for these 5 breaks but managed also to squeeze in 3 sets of flight tickets to see our families (thanks God for Wizzair, Ryanair and Easyjet). No, we did not drink alcohol for over a year (saved us a lot, and we didn't spend money on alcohol while on holiday either!), nor ate in posh restaurants but had lovely, lovely time and made lots of memories.
And one more thing: we were down, many times but re-reading your first 2 diaries (as well as Hypno's), we got inspiration and motivation. So lady, if we could do it, you can definitely do it!
Keep up the good work and will be lurking to see your progress...0 -
Thanks Kavics. Your post made me smile. We know we need to do it, it just seems such a huge mountain to climb, I know I'll feel a LOT better once we pay the first big chunk off and I can see it coming down.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Wow Kavics that's great, must have helped that you and your OH sound like you were totally on the same page.
Looking forward to the new diary Dinah!
I'm going out with my best home friends tonight, it's been a loooong time since we've done that. Must nip out and buy something to drink, races have been on today so bet towns busy tonight. Really should do the shred first though! I went outlet shopping last night (only spent £40 in Kurt Geiger, thank God for sales) and ended up in the cadbury shop, big error. I also won a meat raffle at work today, the universe wants me to eat!
Aw poor little Poppy Wendz, I guess she'll soon figure out that you always come back to her
