    Haha we want more details!!

Got a busy day today and very tired. Went to shops this morning to get birthday pressies and cards and then we went to baby rhyme time in library. This afternoon we are going to the under 1's group, Poppy has such a good social life haha. Managed to use a credit voucher i had towards the pressies for my friends so that was good.

    Welcome back Dinah and NIM!

I put on my last-year-boots today and it transpires they also have a hole in, so I feel like a proper ragamuffin now! Also, to add to my tale of woe, I dropped my iPhone on a tiled floor at work yesterday and shattered the screen :( the case fell off on holiday and I left it off as I never took it out of the room, just used it for music, but I got reckless and didn't put it back on :(

However I have bought a £7 self repair kit from Amazon, the reviews were really good for it so hopefully I haven't grossly overestimated my skills and will be able to fix it! Glad I didn't spend my voucher on books now! If it works, taking the voucher off, the repair will cost me £1.96 which would be super MSE, so fingers crossed!

Birdie - I think I'm excited for you! In fact, I definitely am! A few of OH's friends are talking about going next Oct so I have invited myslef - might not happen but fingers crossed - although I actually think I would die of excitement. Literally.

Eek - fingers crossed for the iphone repair shrimpy! OH has insurance for his iphone as he can be very clumsy but he hasnt had to use it yet (touch wood) and hes had it over a year. Think the insurance is £5 per month with his bank and he also gets breakdown cover with it so pretty MSE really.

Welcome back Dinah and NIM, looking forward to hearing all about your trip!

Aww what a pain about the phone Shrimpy! Hope you do manage to fix it! Absolutely gutted about my phone, the camera has stopped working, I can see the problem, the shutter doesn't open, but can't get in to fix it and I really want to use it as my camera when we're away as it's loads better than my digital camera. I rang my bank to claim on my phone insurance thinking I might get a new phone but no, I have to send it off to get fixed, but I don't want to send it off as a) I don't have a back-up phone and I'm not being mobile-less for however long it takes to fix and b) I doubt I'll get it back in time for my holiday. It's so annoying! I can't even take it to a Carphone Warehouse to get it fixed in store as the nearest repair point is an hour away, Nokia are useless and just tell me to turn it off and on again. Grrrrr. Gone are the days of the indestructable phone, the bleeding contracts we have to take out last longer than the phones do nowadays!

I hope Poppy appreciates how lucky she is with such a buzzing social life! ;) Well done for getting some moeny off the pressies too!

I was thinking that I'd get OH some of his smellies that he's run out of for his birthday and he's just texted me to ask me to go buy the exact things I was going to surprise him with saying that he'll get them tomorrow if I don't have time tonight so I've had to tell him! Grrr, why does he always have to spoil his surprises?!

Shrimpy - my last year boots are worn down oops. Fingers crossed the repair kit works.

Arghh about your OH Birdie, you are only trying to surprise him!

I have given in and bought the top for Poppy haha.

I hope you'll be sharing pics of Poppy in her awesome new jacket! :D

My winter boots are a bit foisty from being in the wardrobe all year (we're still being visited by the mould fairy!), they're leather with ribbons running down the sides and I'm half tempted to stick them in the wachine machine to see what happens. I've had them for 6 years so if it all goes wrong I'm not too bothered, they've served their purprose for long enough! Just would be nice to refresh them so I don't have to buy more boots, they're expensive Camper ones so they don't leak when I walk through puddles like the cheap New Look ones I bought a couple of years ago! :o

Went to buy OH's lotions and potions yesterday and my word that man is expensive to look after! Luckily I had some Nectar points to knock a bit off but I still ended up spending about £25 on him (£10 for eye cream that only lasts a couple of weeks!), and that was with getting some special deals! I thought men were supposed to be cheap to run?!

    I will do Birdie!

Wow 6 years for one pair of boots, they must be good quality. I can't seem to get past a year.

Men are exoensive with their toiletries. Whenever OH starts adding his to the trolley when shopping it gets really expensive.

I remember feeling slightly sick at how much they cost but they have lasted and still look new (well, apart from the mouldy patches _pale_) so they're done well! I go through periods of wearing them non-stop then not wearing them at all for ages which is probably why they've lasted, they get lots of recovery time! :)

I was Googling last night for ideas of what to do with the leftover Guinness I'm going to have from OH's cake and found Guinness chocolate milkshakes! How weird/nice will that be?! Borrowing Mum's blender to make a batch for the party! :) I've been getting my computer craft on and printed a banner of pint glasses that spells out Happy Beerthday! Teehee. I need to get out more! :rotfl:

Tee hee, happy beerthday! I get it, I get it :D

I love how much effort you put into birthdays and parties, it's sweet! Hope hubby appreciates it. Two weeks 'til honeymoon - exciting!! :j

Wendz, that top is super cute, and Poppy does have a mega social life! You know who else have amazing social lives? Retired people! I keep meeting people who do way more than I do - out to the theatre midweek, weekends away, volunteering, looking after grandchildren... Gosh, I can't wait!

Hope your amateur repair works Shrimpy! Does this mean that you can justify new boots...?
