Really sorry about your Grandma Nim, hope she went peacefully and all goes as well as it can this weekend.
Glad you both had a great time in New York. I was going to mention the helicopter rides as my best friend got me it for my 21st and surprised me on way out there. Was definately a highlight for me too.0 -
I'm actually with you on the carb thing. Bodies need 100g of carbs a day to maintain cell function, anything under this is bad for you. But white bread (and actually a lot of store bought wholemeal) contains lots of sugars and salt and additives you don't need for next to no nutritional value. My verdict is out on wholemeal pasta and brown rice tbh as it always seems what you loose in one area you gain in another in this instance there is a slightly higher risk of bowl and intestinal cancer.... I have to think at this point I'll eat what I like and take my chances as apparently every food is going to kill me anyway.
NIM is holding up quite well, I fully expect him to go to pieces once we get to Ireland and it seems more real though.
Hellish to do list this morning - need to go to town to the doctors, book a hire car, pack, straighten my hair, call my boss, pack, call some MS companies to cancel jobs, get the bedding in the wash, work out the router details for my dad, see if i can get my eyebrows done so I look presentable for NIMs family, and best of all I need to get into the back of the attic to find my sewing machine to take up NIMs suit trousers and I can't even remember how to do trouser stitch properly.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

So sorry to hear about your loss NIM, thinking of you both xI don't know who mentioned it, but this is about the low carb diet that was mentioned. PLEASE don't! Sure, cut out the simple carbs like a beast. White bread, rice ect is terrible for us. But complex carbs are good! The low carb diet is just that: a diet. Once you're done with the weight loss your creep back into old ways and it'll be back on again, your body won't thank you for either. Just eat well and exercise, it isn't rocket science!
It was me Cinny, don't worry, its not a crazy eat-half-a-cow-for-breakfast diet, its not even a diet as such as I'm not following a plan or anything. I kind of realised what I was eating before was so carb heavy, I was constantly hungry, couldn't concentrate etc and it was leading me to pig out on all the wrong things. I'm not normally restrictive in what I eat but I felt like I needed to redress the balance and I do feel loads better for it. I'm still eating some carbs, loads of veg etc so no need to worry about me, but I do appreciate what you're saying, thanks
Exercise is my sticking point, I just can't get my groove on with it! Although when I moved, the previous tenants happened to have a left a trampoline in the garden, so if that doesn't motivate me I don't know what will!
