You are doing well Wendz! Pat yourself on the back!
I can't wait to be retired, when my old team leader retired she popped back into the office to see us every so often and said that she had no idea how she'd found the time to work as she was so busy! When OH was off with his knee he lived like a retiree and loved it, had a right good daily routine, even made friends with random old men he'd cross paths with every day. All he needed was a cardy and a flat cap!
I hope OH appreciates the effort I'm going to too! I doubt he'll even notice though, TBH it's more for my benefit than anyone elses because I enjoy doing it!I had a look in the fridge at lunch and we have gained a Heineken keg and 12 big bottles of OH's favourite Greek beer, I hope OH plans on sharing that or he'll be getting put to bed very early! :rotfl:

Hello everyone, have found out my work are going through everyone's internet history so I might be lying low for a while - eeek! You'll have to report back on the Guiness milkshakes Birdie, I can't quite decide how I feel about them to be honest!
Good news on the challenge money Wendz, you're definitely earned Poppy the coat!
My OH is always going on about being retired so he can 'buy a little dog and just potter about'! He already has the flat cap actually!
My repair kit has been despatched but need to wait til the weekend as we get the internet back then and apparently the instructions are all online videos, I've already started showing off about my skills so really hope it goes well!
Birdie I might be picking your brains soon, I think I have convinced OH to have a housewarming/halloween party, as you say mainly for my benefit so I can decorate! Lol at the beerday!

Really hope your mad repair skillz work!
I'm not too sure how I feel about the milkshakes either, but it'll be cool to have a try! Will just make a jug and give everyone who is brave enough a little taste.
I lurve Halloween, one of my favourite times of year for some reason! Can't really celebrate it this year as OH will be on my brother's Stag do in Malaga (jammy get!) This is one of my favourite sites (hardly surprising seeing how I get so carried away when I throw a party!) and there are loads of Halloween party ideas hereOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. Hi everyone.
New York was amazing, can't wait to go back. Got NIM a helicopter ride for our anniversary and it was definately a highlight. Generally I just loved the atmosphere though, it was such a friendly city. will post some photos soon, tbh I'm having trouble articulating why I loved the place so much. Sadly caught an awful cold and associated fever on the plane out to NYC, so couldn't do as much as I hoped, and still lousy with it now.
What happened to all the money chat while I was away?! Its just spend spend spend now we have a challenge winner!
First day back at work today, that was brief - came home again as just felt too rotten with this cold. Going to the docs in the morning to get some antibiotics.
British Gas engineers are booked to come over after the docs as I think its unlikely I'll be back until Monday. One is coming to fit a new boiler pipe outside and some lagging, the other is coming to look at the electrics as everything keeps tripping out if we put any two things on in the kitchen at once (and I think using the kettle at the same time as the washer isn't too much to ask). Especially important to get sorted as we're doing Christmas this year and it would be a nightmare for the leccy to cut out while the Turkey is on the go (if dad doesn't get this job abroad, in which case it'll be Christmas in Bahrain)
House was very exciting to come back to, it's finally looking finished. I'll take some interim pics at the weekend if anyone is interested in seeing the lounge (no pictures or curtains up yet though)
Money atm - who knows?! I managed to leave my online banking security clicky in my cousins flat, need to email her and ask her to please send it up to me. I'm worried I've gone overdrawn to be honest by about £15, as I forgot a payment which was coming out - annoyingly that £15 will incur a £25 charge.
Work have officially pulled our free parking, so thats another £30 or so a month I'll have to pay out.
Going to join the myfitnesspal site, won't actually be exercising until the cold has gone though, struggling not to cough uncontrolably just sitting still atm. ETA: Dinah93 is my username, if anyone knows how to be my friend.
Good luck with the laser eye Birdie. I looked into it a while ago but they said because I have a reasonably strong presciption (-5.75/-4.0) it would only be 50-50 I wouldn't be better than now but still need to wear contacts - and I don't see the point of doing it just to wear a smaller prescription. I was dissapointed tbh but I'm lucky that it doesnt impact much on me though as I always wear contacts not glasses. I didn't realise the healthcare plan covered laser eye surgery though.
Looking for a new phone as vodaphone want to up my contract from £21 to £35! Trying to work out what I want though. Usually tempted to stay nokia since apparently some can use apps, for the first time ever I'm considering going with another type, even considering an iphone despite hating apple although I don't think I could do it in the end! I don't get how I'll know which nokia does the apps though, I need a phone guru.
No competitions for me atm as new firefox has eaten my roboform and I'm far too lazy to actually type all the information.
Which vegan cookbook did you get Cinny? I got Appetite for Reduction just before I was away, a vegan friend has it atm, but looking forward to trying a few things when she gives it back.
ETA: Just had a call to say NIMs granny was read her last rights today, he's known its coming for a while, but its still awful news. We might be vanishing off again quickly if we need to go to Ireland this weekend.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Glad you had fun in NY, Dinah! Did you get to do most of what you planned? Hope you're feeling better soon, even though you can't read this with being away. Clever me :cool:Which vegan cookbook did you get Cinny? I got Appetite for Reduction just before I was away, a vegan friend has it atm, but looking forward to trying a few things when she gives it back.
That's the one I got! The Guns and Roses reference and the Rockabilly Punk cover sold it to me in all honesty. I'm giving it a while before I start recipes though, I'm just started eating more veggie foods, so want my body to adapt to those changes first.
I don't know who mentioned it, but this is about the low carb diet that was mentioned. PLEASE don't! Sure, cut out the simple carbs like a beast. White bread, rice ect is terrible for us. But complex carbs are good! The low carb diet is just that: a diet. Once you're done with the weight loss your creep back into old ways and it'll be back on again, your body won't thank you for either. Just eat well and exercise, it isn't rocket science!
Hope everyone's well though! My batteries almost flat so I best get on a roll, finish my monster smoothie then its an hour of Jillian Michaels! I even dreamt she was making me do lunges, planks and twists in Boots last night :rotfl: Totally brainwashed, me?!0 -
So sorry guys
