Aw Archers what rotten luck!! Someone has stolen something from me too today and I'm very annoyed becuase it makes me think.. why do I work so hard and pay so much tax to have nice things? and not even nice as in luxury, nice as in i.e. a car that runs! when people just go out and take it for free!!! grrr!!
I'm exhausted today and I cant seem to snap out of it/believe it is only monday!! hoping for a much earlier night tomorrow night!
Starnac what party is it? I went to an 8 year olds party this year and it was awesome! Although to be honest, my friends and my parties have definitely regressed - party games are now cool again for sure lol!
Dinah and NIM, if you're reading, I hope you are ok and the family is coping. I hope youre better too and all of this stuff hasn't made it worse!
Archers - what you up to nowadays? did you say you were working? I seem to have got it into my head that we are similar ages (not sure why! - recently graduated?) How are you finding adult life?!! (If I'm wrong ignore me sorry!!)
PS Zig - Australia... VERY EXCITING!!0 -
9 sleeps to go!!!!! :j :j :j
Sorry, I just got a little over-excited there! Been having a rehash of the itinerary as OH wants to go to Magic Kingdom now so we can go on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride 'and we've paid for it so we have to go'... no skin off my nose, more time with Mickey? Don't mind if I do!;) The plan is now looking extremely busy though! We've only got 2 non park days pencilled in and I reckon we'll end up in a park on one of them because we haven't given ourselves long enough to 'do' them all properly! Really wish we'd booked for 3 weeks.Ah well, might as well start saving now so we can go again! Although we can't go next year, doubtful about the year after too... maybe we'll get there in 2014!
I love the idea of planned splurges Lara, nice way of treating yourself without getting carried away! Enjoy the treats! We really need to sort out a pension for OH, work automatically started one for us when we turned 21 but OH cancelled it straight away as he preferred to have the £50 a month in his pocket! Boys.
What was stolen from you Tink? Its so unfair that you do have to work hard to pay for things that others just take. A few years ago my Dad's car was broken into twice in the space of 6 months and the radio got stolen both times, he took the hump and refused to own a nice car anymore, traded it in for a manky van which was left well alone!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I went to Orlando for the first time when I was like 2 or 3 and I still remember bits of it...oddly the one thing that REALLY sticks in my mind is the aligators outside one of the hotels our shuttle bus stopped at on the way to the parks. I also have memories of kicking Donald in the tummy when he tried to pick me up for a picture. Today I'm glad they have a lot of padding in those sections. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0

Must be the time for thieves at the minute, because I had my paypal account hacked into over the weekend (which is linked to our joint bank account
).

Oh Flower, that's awful! Are you going to get the money back? My dad has a Littlewoods catalogue account and the details to that were stolen. He's still waiting to have the money credited back to his account. We only found out because they ordered an Iphone but couldn't change the delivery address so it came to the house, which obviouslty puzzled my dad. Hope you can get it all sorted before the baby comes!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Yes getting it back, but like everything its the waiting game for it. Paypal have to do their 'enquiries' etc...bank have been notified. On the lucky side its 4 days before payday so wasnt a great deal of money there for them to have, but its not the point. Some people just have no morals!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Sorry to hear about the money Flower and Archers. Some people have no morals do they. Sorry to hear about you being stolen from too Tink!
CMD - yay for your mum coming to stay, you will be well looked after at last.
Birdie - exciting, not long to go! Magic Kingdom is definately worth spending some time in. There are so many parks aren't there!
We just had a last minute couple of days down in southampton as OH was off work. Went to see my friend and OH's niece after her first day of school. She had a bit of a tantrum on the way out as she wanted to take her pe kit home and they wouldn't let her oops :rotfl:.0 -
Just caught up on my phone - dont have the internet in my new place yet grr! not sure when we'll get it either so may have to invest in a dongle..! (any good/bad experiences or reccomendations?)
Ours is with Tmobile as they had the best value one when we got it. 3 had a similar deal but having had a nightmare trying to cancel my brothers dongle a few months earlier there was no way I was going back to them. Tmobile have been very reliable though.I went to Orlando for the first time when I was like 2 or 3 and I still remember bits of it...oddly the one thing that REALLY sticks in my mind is the aligators outside one of the hotels our shuttle bus stopped at on the way to the parks. The weekend went as well as could be hoped, it was actually quite nice seeing all NIMs family although would have been better to have been under happier circumstances. His granny had a great send off with a lot of people coming to wish her well.
NIMs mum was really making an effort with me too, even asked me to take the wine to the altar for the communion during the funeral(bread bearer was her other son so clearly not a mikey mouse job to her).
Feeling rubbish today, AF time and have cramps, headache and shakes. Also still on antibiotics and probably quite dehydrated. Think this is an excuse to defrost the half a cow we have stashed in the freezer under the pretence I'm feeling rubbish due to lack of iron.
Money update. We're up the creek without the paddle (or boat, or map). Basically our bank didn't tell us when we ran out of money in the joint account when in NYC so we've managed to have 15 charges mostly of under £10 each of which will incurr a £25 fine!!!!! We're also currently over the overdraft on both accounts until I can get to the bank tomorrow. Flights and car back to Ireland came to around another £500 too which went on the CC. And we have no money left for the month so everything will go on the CC. AND I think our current debt total excluding the car and student loans is somewhere around £15,500. So we will need to regroup at the end of the month and try to work out what we owe. We really want to get the credit cards cleared again as both are at around £1000, and the overdraft is around £1000 too, bit to grandad, bit of loan left etc. If we could get rid of these and just have the one huge CC it would feel a lot less daunting.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oh how awful Flower (and Ruby's Dad!), there really is an unlucky streak on here at the minute isn't there?!
I'm so proud of my Mum, she just sent me an e-mail from her phone! It was just a one-liner, but I'm still impressed! Old people are so cute when they figure out how to use technology!
Feeling a little like this >> :wall:with OH right now and don't know what to do about it! He refuses to get really excited about going away because he has convinced himself that I'm going to be all 'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt' whilst we're there which is rubbish, we're doing loads of things that I've never done before/ not done for so long I can't remember; it's not my fault my parents took me when I was younger and I wish he'd just get over it!
I'm so excited about it I've been making plans and reading books and websites to make sure that we do everything we can in the time we have yet he's moaning that there are no 'surprises' left for him. Utter b*llocks! He actually told me off last week because I'd found out (by accident!) that there are some restaurants doing $30 3-course fixed menus during the month of September as a special promotion, most of which we wouldn't have normally considered as they're out of our price range, he'd have rather found out whilst we were there as a nice surprise...although we wouldn't have found out because we would have been staying away from these expensive places! I've made a (flexible) plan but it's only to make sure that we squeeze 11 theme park trips into 13 days so that a) we don't forget one having spent so much money on the tickets, b) we catch each park on its lightest day so we don't spend most of our time in queues and c) we can alternate between full-on days and more relaxing days so we don't get burnt out. He was a bit funny earlier and said 'Well I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself' so I just snapped back, 'Yes I will and you will not ruin it for me!' Jeez, maybe if he'd actually shown any interest and read the bleeding book that's been sat on the coffee table for months he'd be looking forward to it a bit more!
It is scary how much he is turning into his grumpy Dad!
ETA: Spent too long having a moan that I missed Dinah's post! Glad that Ireland was as good as could be expected under the circumstances and nice to hear MIL was making an effort. Not good that you're still feeling rubbish and the money situation is :eek:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
