Lol I like your atitude Birdie, he really does sound like a bit of a grump lately.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Haha Birdie, I guess he just doesn't 'get' that dreaming and planning are a big part of the fun too. Just ignore him, I am sure he'll come around and chill out when you're there.
Flower - so sorry to hear about your Paypal  Hope they get the money back to you really soon.
Dinah that's a total pain about the bank charges. I don't know why banks can't refuse transactions, and surely they should charge a fee per week or day rather than per transaction? Glad to know all the bank charges cases changed everything (rolly eye smiley). That's good you can stick it all on the cc though and regroup a bit. You're really close to getting your Granda and the other loan paid off.
So glad to hear NIM's Gran's funeral went well. It makes such a difference to family if the celebration is a nice reflection of someone's life. When my Gran died we had tea in the garden centre cafe that she always used to go to. It sounds weird, but somehow it was perfect. It was very nice that NIM's Mum was making a big effort, hopefully it can build a few little bridges in the future.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Glad everything went well Dinah but shame about the poxy bank not letting you know you were over your limit! That's one of the reasons I went with the co-op, they may not be big but they have great customer service. Went over my overdraft a little last month and they sent me a letter saying if I paid the money back within 14 days from the date of the letter, they wouldn't charge me for it!
Birdie, my OH is the exact opposite. He's a big kid inside (and out it seems) and sometimes its a little too much. Like the time he had skittles and dr pepper together...he was rolling around the floor of a quite packed train laughing his head off! I am not joking, he was ROLLING. AROUND. ON. THE. FLOOR. A grown manchild of 26 at the time on the way back from watching NFL at wembley. Our friends were mortified! Safe to say he's not allowed skittles, dr pepper or orange juice anymore because it turns him into a hyperactive child.
2 days till I hand in my dissertation and well...my tutuor has left it till the last minute to tell me to ignore half of the guidelines and just write a big long essay to be honest. It just means instead of finishing the thing tonight, I now need to spend all day in the library again tomorrow to do more research. Oh well, I'm leaving it be for the night and whatever doesn't get done, doesn't get done. Glad granny NIM got a good send off, sometimes there are things that are more important than money. However that sucks about the bank charges
Who are you with? I'm sure natwest 'only' charged me £12 for letting my rent bounce once.
Tink - Yes you're right! I'm kind of settled into the big grown up world now, I do love payday but it freaks me out how much of our working lives are ahead of us. I heard two women talking about retirement today, one of them said she was 47 so had about 20 years to go. I was a bit flabbergasted that at a point in life that seems so far in the future you'd still be working for another two decades! :O I'm sure you just get used to it though. My job's a temporary contract which suits me for now as I can live at home and save up to do some travelling, but at the same time it means I'm stuck on buses and trains as there's no point buying a car, and it's getting cold! How is it going for you? Was it you who was moving to London? Sorry if that's wrong!
Eee birdie - give that boy a smack. I could maybe see his point if when you got there you spent the whole time going "been here, seen this, yawn" - but that ain't gonna happen! And he'll be thankful when everything runs smoothly because of your planning. I think it makes a holiday even more fun to plan stuff ahead, there's still going to be new and unexpected stuff when you're there.
Good luck with the dissertation ruby!
Flower - that sucks, hope it gets sorted quickly. Utter scumbags
Haha wendz, that reminds me of my first day at school when I tried to take home my art overall, towel, pe kit etc. Bless her!

Glad the funeral went well as it could and that NIMs Mum was making an effort.
Hope you feel better soon. Sorry to hear about the money problems as well. Is always going to be hard to juggle when you have been away lots and very busy. Hope you are back on track soon.
Birdie - bless your mum, think an email from a phone would be far too much for my mum to cope with. Makes me laugh as OH's Nan is on my facebook and chats to me and my mum can barely text haha.
Your OH sounds like he is being a pain at the moment. Hopefully he will let go and enjoy himself when you are there. You need to be organised on that kind of holiday especially as there is so much to pack in.
Ruby - that made me laugh about your OH, bet it was embarassing but sounds so funny. Good luck with the dissertation, they are so hard!
Archers - haha aww bless you on your first day of school. I think her second day was a bit more succesful!0 -
Ohh I think CMD has baby news for those not on her facebook! Exciting!0

I actually squeaked with glee when I saw her status! :j So happy for her!
Can't believe your OH went that mental Ruby! That's insane! Bit of a 'mare about the dissertation, hope you get it all finished in time!
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that planning is a key part of a holiday! I've done OH's kind of holidaying and TBH we haven't got time to be wandering around lost and hungry for hours at a time!
My Mum keeps asking if she needs 'a' Facebook! I really don't want to go there with her, she'll be one of those weird Mums who leave comments on her kids', and all of their friends', satus updates and photos and it's just not right!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
