Thanks tink, it's nice to know that there are people out there in the same situation. My manager at work is less than accomodating when I ask for weekends off because I want to see him. She umms and aaahhhs for ages and when I point out that I don't have to work every single weekend and there are other people that would love the extra money that working weekends bring.

Oohh that dress looks really nice Birdie/Wendz, I wouldn't mind wearing that myself and I don't even need to breastfeed.

    I like how we've become a dilemma-solving thread!

I'm not really qualified to comment on the iPhone debate as I'm biased because I want one. Though a few people I know have HTC and say it's better, quicker, cheaper (more sensible!) than the iPhone, sometimes we just want what we want. Tete, go for the iPhone! It sounds like a good deal for what you'll get. The 3GS will be more than enough of an upgrade and think of all the fab apps! Jealous :p But upgrade time at the end of the month, so we'll see...

Zig, yours is a bit more tricky! I think I'd be inclined to go in November too.

Oh BLERG! I just lost the rest of my giant post - sooo annoying!

Basically, Zig - if you can afford - do it! Life's too short to wait for the ideal opportunity.

Bravo Tete on all your running!

Hurrah Birdie for your lovely mum!

Wendz - who knew the sorts of things that you'd need to know for motherhood?! I like the easy access outfit :D

Well done to all on a bit of healthkick - I'm spinning tonight! Bit late for my holiday (on Saturday - yay!) but done a shred or two and feel better already :)

Lara, hope you're feeling better now and enjoying married life...?

Congrats on your wedding plans Ruby -hotel looks gorgeous!

Um, think I've probably missed out a fair bit, but that was quite long after all...

ps. I love the winter thread too!

Ooh Zig, decisions decisions. I think I'm going to say November too, If you're our there for a good length of time you'll want the full Oz experience which means their summer and christmas! Plus maybe you could use the airmiles on the way back like shrimpy suggested. Great prices either way, how long have you been saving those airmiles for?

Where are you going on holiday poddle? Wish this healthkick malarky would rub off on me.

Ruby I've been in the same situation too, we're from the same town but then were long distance for 4 years. I thought we were awesome at it, til we're back in one place now and I realise how much nicer it is! Bit scared what will happen when we're both job hunting again though.

ETA: Finally updated my sig from pay day, I had a whole £2.55 leftover from last month :D and paid another £66.67 off my overdraft. Cant remember my password for my ticker though grr

Tete - I am going to get involved in the iPhone/HTC debate being a BlackBerry person.

I am still here just drowning under shoes for the wife's website http://www.rhythmdanceshoes.com.

At least the 30 minutes wake each day is getting me fit at lunch along with a mile swim after work.

    Morning all,

Poolie - your wifes site looks good, does she dance herself?

I have finally got to £40 on OP woohoo so just got to wait for it to hit my account.

Need to go to shops later so hoping rain eases off a bit.
  • Morning everyone! It is absolutely chucking it down in London town today! In a way I'm glad to be locked in the library for the time being! Got to try and crack on with the dissertation today! Might be a bit difficult because there are painters in here who don't seem to succomb to my evil glares everytime the noise gets a little bit too much. Librarian has reassured me that they will be keeping an eye on them to make sure they don't cause too much disruption. Hope the weather brightens up for you all later on!

Morning! Congratulations on the OP payout Wendz! I'm not quite half way with mine but do keep forgetting, you've reminded me to go and check it now!

Hope the builders pipe down for you Ruby! Its on and off rain here too, was only drizzling when I left the house but halfway to work it started pouring, which is when I discovered I have a hole in my shoe :o Definitely time to start building the winter wardrobe - must earn some vouchers!

About a year I guess! I was lucky and was able to take advantage of a deal where they doubled your airmiles if you were a new customer. But now they're changing the rules and you have to pay for your taxes etc on top so they're not free flights anymore - which is why I want to take advantage now!

Thanks for all the opinions guys! I've decided to go in November. There's not much work around and so any savings will be rubbish with paying out for rent and petrol for the extra months I stay here. I'm nervous now it's so close, but excited! :D

Good luck getting on with the dissertation Ruby! I feel your pain..

That's a nice little chunk of money to get Wendz! I have a £320 vet bill to pay today  :(

Bit of gossip, I popped into see ex-OH yesterday (on the way to meeting a mate, so I made sure I dressed up haha ) and I discovered that he is now seeing the girl he kissed just before we broke up, and that they spent the weekend together so it's all very cosy. *rolly-eyes smiley* But then, he's all like, "you look really good, I could kiss you, do you want to?" I'm like no! He kept saying "you sure?" but I'm so glad I took the high ground and walked out of there looking and feeling good! :D

Also in money news, I have a little more to add to the challenge, £13 from MS, £15.48 from paypal (ebay and surveys - you know I'm getting desperate when I withdraw the whole amount and don't round it down!) and a random £3.91 (current account reward minus a small interest charge I paid out of it).

I have enough (just) to clear my outstanding loan, it won't save me anything interest wise but will be a big psychological boost... Think I'm going to bite the bullet, then I will feel a little better about updating my sig... The overall total will be about the same due to the holiday, moving and driving lessons which a good MSEer wouldn't have done whilst in debt... but I guess at least I'm no further in debt as a result of them...? Money makes my head spin :(
