O/S Goals/Life changes for 2007

  • Me and my boyfriend are moving into our own house in April (I'm so excited....:j), at the moment we're living with his mum, so can't wait to start going OS from spring-time!

So my goals for 2007 are:

    1) - Lose weight, aiming for two stone by this time next year.
    2) - Achieve weight loss by cooking healthy meals and not buying junk food for snacks
    3) - Exercise more, especially go cycling as I was bought a bike last year and have barely used it
    4) - Meal plan and do grocery challenge
    5) - Before we move, have a ruthless sort out of stuff to sell on Ebay, freecycle or give to charity as I don't want to drag all of the useless clutter into my lovely new house!
    6) - Grow own herbs on windowsill - this will be my first effort at gardening! :D

  • My resolutions are similar to many of yours, but hopefully posting them will kick start me:rotfl:

    1. Lose weight - aiming for 2 stone by Aug 14th (AGAIN):rotfl:

    2. Menu plan & storecupboard challenges. Also aiming to keep to grocery/cleaning budget of £200 for January. (Am hopefully moving house at the end of Jan so this one may drift slightly...)

    3. Spend more time doing enjoyable things - I'm getting out my sewing machine, & have shelves of books to read:j

    4. Aiming to study for at least 2 hours each week & this year actually complete study packs that I've had for ages!

    5. Considering jumping back on the flylady bandwagon as far as home organising is concerned. Need someone to tell me what to do & when to do it!

    Good luck everyone:beer:
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

1 - Finalise my divorce from 1st husband (I have divorced him in the UK in 1994 but still technically married in Italy, where I - naively - registered our marriage, then remarried in the UK but not registered in Italy but never did the proper divorce procedures to finalise my 1st divorce in Italy! I am GOING TO BE DIVORCED in 2007, come what may!)

2 - In August 2007 I am going to hit the big 5-0 and getting dangerously near the menopause. I want to get fit and lose some weight before hitting the round number!

3 - Learn to read a knitting pattern!

4 - Drink more water and less tea

5 - Say NO more often

6 - Create a routine to keep the house in a semi-decent state of tidiness and cleanliness

7 - Be nicer to my husband, even when he irritates the **** out of me! He is a really good guy, after all!!!

8 - Ah, I was forgetting this one! Finish the Breastfeeding Counselor course that I started 3 years ago and should have finished 2 years ago!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Drink more water

Try and do a little bit of tidying each day, instead of letting it build up

Attend to paperwork promptly instead of sticking it on the 'to-do' pile

Spend more time with DH and especially the kids while they're still young

Carry on with my reflexology appointments - it's good for my blood pressure!!

  • My resolutions are similar to those already said. They are also similar to those of last year and the year before and before and before.....:o
...except, this time it's going to be different!
Thanks to this website I have already lost a little weight (and NOT put it on over Chritmas), I already cook a lot healthier and have reduced my spending. So this year I will lose that excess weight.
I will cook form scratch instead of using ready made meals.
    I will spend less.
I will use supermarkets less and support local shops more.
I will not waste so much food.
    I will get fit!
And my business will take off!!!
    :j :j :j
And I wll have a drink tonight  Happy New Year everybody
    2007 will be great

I have finally decided what my true resolution is going to be. In 2007 I will not buy anything unless it is completely and absolutely necessary. I will also drag DH kicking and screaming into frugal living. I want to get every single debt paid off in 2007 so that we can start overpaying the mortgage in 2008.

These could have been posted by me! :o

Also, I need to be more careful with all this spending on lunches when I'm out on surveys. Much of my expenses are paid, but most lunches are not, and I tend to go into cafes in Central London where a coffee/tea and a sandwich can cost £5. So I MUST discipline myself and make my own snacks, or, better still, have a good breakfast at home, a piece of fruit for lunch, and then dinner at home... OK sometimes I'm working thorugh the evening, but I'm sure I can do better that spending that money.

Oh another thing: Start again with my long stiff walks. So what am I doing sitting in front of a computer? :rolleye:

Happy new year to all! :D
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

There are so many things, but the ones I have decided that I need to concentrate on the most are:

    Menu planning
    Cooking from scratch
    Making packed lunches for DH
Get stuck into clearing out the clutter that has invaded our house, especially the bedrooms
Start playing my keyboard once I have bought some sheet music from the local Hospice Shop

    January 2025 Grocery Challenge: £220.00/£59.47
January 2025 NSD: 0/30 (unplanned spending)
