This is fantastic!
I have actually managed a big step - getting hubby to take responsibility for his money (long boring story) so that is a weight off my mind.
I like the idea of a day for everything as I do the same thing! Everything in one mad rush, end up re-doing it, get in a strop, get tired.....etc etc!
So I guess mine are:
A day for everything so I get more "me" time
Pay off 60% of my credit cards (loans are taking care of them selves)
Eat breakfast every day - this will be a challenge!
Seriously thinking about giving up smoking but I am a witch when I do
Walk dogs more often
Shall we review these on a regular basis? That way we can spur each other on more.If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!

The Dragon (Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragon's for thou art crunchy and good with catsup)
Yep unfortunately the proposed building is a 2 storey house on the right hand side of the bottom of my garden, as the gardens are both long and thin said building will have to be long and thin. As we already have another house on the left hand side of the bottom of our garden we will be cast into darkness from both sides. Planning permission was already rejected by the local council but they have taken it to the Secretary of State.
My whole way of life could be going down the swanney and all so someone can make some extra cash from an inheritance property
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

hi,
I definately want to switch to organic meat this year, so will stop buying crap so i can afford it. Also make the most out of each peice of meat so it's not wasted. (cant bare the thought of those poor animals so we can get a £2 quid chiken any more)
I'm feeling inspired by this thread to maybe start to grow some veg too.
\quit somking!!
Get organised.

Almost forgot.........
Get on with things when starting then and not get distracted
Not judge a book by it's cover..........applicable to most things I think!
Stop dying hair, it's in really bad condition and will save me money too..........If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T

Just a quick question to all you clever gardening types - if I dig up some of the grass in my back garden to make an area to grow veggies, will the soil thats underneath be ok as it is or will I need to put in lots of fertiliser etc to make it suitable before I plant seeds?
Many thanks Heather0 -
Good luck to you all with your plans for 2007. It has been inspiring to read about what other people are doing. I am going to try and extend the growing season in the allotment with use of cold frame for winter salads. I will use my bicylce more and try to be even better at ethical/envirnmentally friendly shopping and consumption. Me and OH also need to lose some weight and get fit.0

You will not needs lots of fertiliser in the first year but it would be good to dig in some well rotted manure if you have some. You do not need to get rid of the grass as you can dig it in(upside down) or stack it, putting grass side to grass in layers. This then rots to make a nice laom which you can use when making your own seed compost next year. Hope this helps..:T0 -

Thanks gardening grandma - I'll give it a go - hopefully all that digging will burn off a few calories too :j0 -
Gosh! You've all got so many! Mine will be a mixture of yours (well, you have such good ideas
):
1) Lose weight - I'm apparently obese, and this may well be why I feel so depressed at the moment.
2) Eat more healthily to gain 1.
3) Meal plan consistently to gain 1 and 2.
4) Exercise more - 5 mins of skipping on the skipping rope each day and a walk around my lovely town. When raining I've got my (under-used) Rosemary Conley DVD!
5) Look at the skills that I have and decide where they can take me work-wise.
6) Stop beating around the bush and actually get on with things.
7) Sort out items around the home that we no longer use and recycle/Ebay/car boot.
8) Read the books that I have and use the library, rather than falling for the charms of Waterstones' 3 for 2 offers and not reading them because I've still got loads from before
.
That gives me a good load to go at for now!

I tend to do my resolutions by month, so I dont get overwhelmed in January. So far I have:
January - Get a job!!!!
February - Start budgeting properly and track spending
March - Grocery/Storecupboard Challenge, begin reducing food bill
Note how Feb and March are dependant on me getting a job in January - A cunning plan, I thought
April - Get rid of my Ebay pile. I've had it for at least 2 years now
May - Keep flat clean and tidy - includes changing the bed once a week and cleaning the bathroom twice a week
And some others that are sort of 'pencilled' in:
- Start sewing/crafting/knitting more
- Sleep properly
- Read more (I'm hoping I can combine these two, by reading for 2 hours before I go to sleep instead of playing on the compy)
There's a few more that I'm too embarrased to put on the Internet - so lots of room for improvement here
Good luck to you all!We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
