6. Decorate my bedroom. The whole house needs doing but i'll make a start there seeing as the other rooms are "bearable". It's been stripped of wallpaper for 2 years now!! Not "love inspiring" at allllll! If your bedroom says what kind of person you are then i'm a scruffy cow, dull, damp and have a huge crack!
:rotfl: just like mine but if it's true then I also have bits that crumble into holes when stripped

Ok i had a smacked wrist for my signature being too long so i decided to make a post instead. If anyone else has any goals etc or things they are trying/ deterimined to do this year then i thought this thread could be used to record it so we can see how each other are doing
This year has been really good for me.
Ive discovered the wonders of meal planning and have mastered the family grocery budget which is helping us alot.
I managed to make our gas and electric last us over christmas without us all getting ill.
Im actually looking at being able to get some savings together for the first time in years.
Im investigating how hard it will be to have and run my own functional, practical garden.
Our debts are managable - albeit just but still managable.
Ive discovered selling on Amazon and currently have about 20 cds listed that need good homes and oen book so far - thinking about buying books to sell on there though as a bit of spare cash.
My slow cooker is becoming a good friend as is Freecycle.
The wonders of my sewing GCSE are rearing their heads and helping me preserve clothes! and make gifts for Xmas 2007 already!!!!!
We will have our first ever family holiday - legoland in May - for 2 days but still our first holiday thanks to our tescos vouchers!!!!
so i have set goals for this year
- id like to get my house insulated and winterproofed BEFORE winter sets in - so im looking at new window sealent, making sausage dogs, lining windows with the cling film stuff, curtain to cover the front door, letter box cover etc so come winter we will be snuggly warm
- id like to decorate my flat again - the flooring in the front room is done but now the paint needs an update adn it does in most of the flat
- id like to get my garden sorted out - it looks liek a swamp so that will be my main goal - to have a nice garden for ben to play in the spring - so i need to get my bum in gear with weed killer and membrane down to put gravel on top of.
- i want to grow my own veg and have that hopefully help us out financially this year.(carrots, variety of herbs, sprouts and maybe onions or swede if manageable)
- get some savings. Id like to have about £800 by christmas 2007. - not for Xmas but in the bank incase i need it/as reassurance etc
has anyone else got goals that they have set themselves for this year??Time to find me again0 -
Ooh, good question

I've started making monthly resolutions rather than a load of ones for the year. I thought if I try something for a month, then if it's going to work it will stick, and if it doesn't stick then I won't beat myself up over it - I'll either abandon it for a bad job, or try again later in the year when things might be different.
January's resolutions were: start using bread machine, start making yoghurt, plan meals (use up freezer stuff), cut shopping budget. Oh and give up drinking during the week but that's only temporary
In February I plan to start using my slow cooker, and to make an action plan to see whether my small business idea is feasible (I won't actually start actioning it until March - baby steps!).
I need to think about the other things I want to do this year too, so I can see where I'm going - I'll be fascinated to read the replies.
Well done on your achievements for 2006 - sounds like a good year and very inspirational

Hiya,
This sounds like a great idea, I'll be in on it! Just let me put together my list and I'll post it later... should be good for the motivation!

I normally do an Aims List on the 1st January each year. Usual stuff lose weihjt, stop smoking, go swimming get rid of junk and de clutter room by room. Don't always achieve what I want but the good intentions are there.
I find that doing them daily/weekly/monthly normally happens when I'm stressed and have to much too do but not enough time. Then when I don't achieve them I get even more stressed so I avoid them like the plague now.
Good luck with yours though.0 -
Well done on subscribing to Prima! I love the magazine and have subscribed to it for 18 months now. Looks like you've already done, but you can subscribe to it quite cheaply via certain websites.
But I should get a list together really. My dad gave me a small notebook the other week, so maybe I'll get that out and start! Good thinking Hester!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

Hi Hester,
We have a 2007 thread on Old Style goals so I've merged your thread with that so you can see what everyone elses aims are too.
