  • Write another letter accepting the £60 as part payment and inform them should they not offer you the further £540 you shall pursue it through the financial ombudsman. This is the way I have gone and been successful with every claim so far apart from a stayed bank charge complaint. They are very helpful although it can take a bit time.Good luck!

Egg refused my claim for just over £300. I sent it to FOS who have finally got Egg to agree to refund the amount i asked for.

These companies just hope people will give up.

    Good luck :D
One step at a time ;)
  • Make sure you say you are accepting the £60 in part payment AND without prejudice and will be continuing to court or the FO with your claim for the full amount.
  • excellent thanks for the help. printing it now hehe can't wait

  • What did you write in your letter out if interest? I too have received the letter offering part payment of charges. They offered me £16 for a total claim of £92.03. I am obviously going to contest this, but what wording do you use? Is it just along the lines of 'I will not be accepting your partial offer and will now be pursuing my claim through the Financial Ombudsman unless you send payment in full within 14 days?

    Thanks

    James
