They even name the company as an example in their press release I quoted above.
So, my question still stands...is it possible to reclaim default fees that the OFT have not automatically presumed are unfair?0 -

Sorry, I got bored with writing 'Yes' to answer questions on here.
Don't get hung up too much about what the OFT said, particularly the figures. They decided to set a level to try and appease everyone. It bears very little relation to any actual costs, even in the case of Egg or any other Credit Card that insists on the minimum monthly payment being paid by Direct Debit. Egg and other companies seem to think they can now use this level as a charge, knowing the OFT won't pursue them, even though it's almost certainly way higher than their costs.
I can tell you I know personally of three people who have claimed from Egg in the last 3 months. Even after the OFT release, they have paid up in full every time. There are countless others on this site and others who have also been paid in full by Egg.
If you want to try and recover your charge, claim away, it's likely you'll be paid out.0 -

Have a look here. You may need to register over at CAG in order to see this but there is a section for people who are claiming from Egg.
