    Good morning everyone,

(((HUGS))) Crazychik and PennyPincher, hope the pain eases as the day goes on, also to Taplady xxx
Hope Cookie turnsd up soon too.

Well, we are back from the sales!!!! Left here just after 6 this morning, and i was SO good, stuck to buying things for the children (including a new winter coat for DD for next year, £15 down from £50 in Next!!!) as i really dont need anything (want loads, but just dont need loads) so im quite proud of myself. We did treat ourselves to a cooked breakfast tho, a treat fro the children for getting up so early. they dont mind as they have come home with loads of new clothes, albet for next year rather than now.
Plans for today now, do nothing!!!! Had a friend come round yesterday afternoon with her daughters, and we had a lovely time, but today i think i just want to relax and do not a lot. Might take a few decorations down (not the main ones) as ive had enough now, i love christmas, but once its over, thats it, ive had it!!!!
Well, a cup of tea is calling me - i hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning all, hope everyone is well, get well soon to those who are still under the weather

Well I've got loads to do, I did want to have a look round the sales, but seeing as my partner decided to go out drinking all day yesterday and rolled in in the early hours of this morning, I can't see him getting up to do that! So I may aswell crack on with the housework etc.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi

after a couple of days being holed up on the sofa ill and reading all your posts, you have all inspired me to start old style and today is the day I start. One of the things that appeal to me is the lack of chemicals in the cleaning materials and my aim is to keep a tidier cleaner house and most of all save money so I can spend it on nice things. So today I am going to the shop to buy vinegar and lemon juice, I have the soda. I am going to clean out my kitchen and tidy throughout my flat collecting pin money, which is then going towards a breadmaker ( which i have always wanted). Then I am making a ham lasagne with the leftover ham from christmas. I am determined to stick to it. thanks for the inspiration.
  • :j :j :j LOOK EVERYBODY MY BROADBAND'S WORKING :j :j :j

My voice isn't - VERY sore throat kicked in yesterday so am sitting here with a Lemsip - but at least all my festive choral singing is over and done with!

Hope everybody's had a lovely Christmas, I haven't read through the threads from the last few days yet so am off to do that in a minute.

I had an unexpected guest for Christmas dinner, my ex-flatmate was supposed to be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with his elderly aunt and uncle and the neighbour who helps to look after them, but by early Christmas afternoon he's had enough of people being rude and obnoxious and taking him for granted  and with them being a mile away from me, and his house 10 miles away, with no transport on Christmas Day, he turned up on my doorstep - so it was just as well I'd done plenty of grub :D

I got a few odds and ends for Christmas - a pestle and mortar from Mum, a cheque (:D), book and some Lush bath bombs from Dad, chocs from the vicar, salt and pepper mills from my brother (as requested from my list!) and nothing yet from my sister who assumed I'd be going up to my mum's sometime this week and therefore didn't put it in the post  (I usually do go to mum's for New Year but badly needed the chance to sort out the flat). What I want to know is, has she bought me a copy of Thrifty Ways? Cos I asked for one and haven't got one yet

Off to read some more OS

    Love Rzl xx

  • Morning everyone (just)

(((( hugs)))) to those who are poorly. Hope you all feel better soon.
grannybroon good luck on finding Cookie. You may find that you get some unexpected cleaning done if you are having to pull everything out of everywhere.;) Just trying to look for the silver lining and all that.

I'm off to the recycling centre today to get rid of all the packaging that can be recycled. Then its off to the supermarket to get just a couple of bits and pieces. After that, I really must try and get the house into some kind of order so that the house will be tidy when we get back from Scotland. We are visiting my family for New Year so that means more presents!

Morning peeps! This is my second attempt at a post as the first one disappeared
Glad you all had nice prezzies & christmas family gatherings. I'm currently enjoying the peace of being left alone - the in laws have gone home & OH has gone back to work. I'm working from home today, waiting for Comet's 3rd attempt to deliver a DW without dents & broken bits. I've also got someone coming to collect our old rabbit hutch which has been in the garage for over a year.
We had a nice time, Christmas lunch was fab and I got some nice presents - a super new laptop backpack (I struggle to carry my old briefcasey-type one without getting backache) and a digital radio. OH was chuffed with the breadmaker too ;)
This year I had the guts to ask my MiL for the gift receipt for a seriously heinous nightie (I get one every year), so have got a few bits to take back, including some lovely Denby mugs from SiL. They're very nice but don't fit under the "tap" on our new coffee maker, so will never get used. Just looked them up on the Debenhams website - £27.50 for 2 mugs  I could buy a complete dinner service for that :D
Hope you're all well, hugs to those feeling under the weather & well done to catowen for braving the sales!
  • Ooooh Forgot to say well done clu and welcome. :hello: You really have jumped into OS with both feet!

Just been looking through my 'bargains' - got about £300 worth of clothes in Next for £100, DD has some new fairy lights and a new lamp shade (pink roses, she loves it!!!) A new set of white wood bathroom furniture for the downstairs loo (half price) and a few bits for the pressie box, including half price xmas cards, ready for next year. Also picked up a couple of DVDs for less than £3, and a book for me!!!!
So, didnt do too badly with the bargains, and didnt go to crazy like i normally do, buying anything and everything!!!!!
  • Hi Again!

GP came out with a nasty needle, but it has done the trick but feeling abit fuzzy. He is looking into stronger pain killers in tablet form as I hate needles. I love my GP, he even stayed for a cuppa and mince pie-he stuck the kettle on:D OH's family attend the same surgery and none of them like him as he's brutally honest and he's an older asian doctor (they are abit racist), but I like that. I know if he felt I was messing him around he would say and I think if anything, I underplay how I feel sometimes-but he reads me well.
OH & DD have just left for DD's lunch date and Im here all by myself:j :j :j ....I dont often get the house to myself as OH worries Im going to fall and hurt myself:rolleyes: He's going to look at the sales and grab a coffee;) then the girls are coming back for an hour or so.

OH has been busy this morning. He changed the light in DD's room. She had a 3 spotlight in there before and she keeps leaving it on:eek:   ...cant get the energy bulbs for it either:eek:   so she chose a paper lantern style shade and we have put a 20w=100w in there and the room is brighter than it was before, but at a fraction of the cost;) He had to change the switch too. He also insisted in sweeping/moping through downstairs:confused: ..so the house is now spotless. He's a sweetie really.

We have decided to allow ourselves £25 per month"mad money" each. Not sure what Im going to spend mine on, but sure I will find something:D OH will probably go golf as they do a special on 18 holes early/late for £9.99, which is pretty good value.

Have sorted out the finances and we have roughly 5 more payments till we are totally debt free and thats without going too mental. We were supposed to be debt free a couple of months ago but we have needed to do stuff around the house and there is still a few more bits to do-so am aiming for the summer roughly.

Anyway, Im rambling now. Hugs to all.

DD is going out for lunch (pizzahut) with one of her old mates from primary. Its the first time we are allowing this, but OH will be hoovering in the background
well we used to stay close when our DD was that age :)

but isn't it a bit extreme for OH to actually get a job there and clean up in the background

hope she has a good time and you feel better following jab from GP :)
