Sorry to read about those in pain, also will be thinking of you and your residents today taplady. Not the best way to end Christmas festivities.
Grannybroon does come straight from The Broons! My colleagues called me this when my first DGS was born! No, Crazychick, I am not a Hitler though my family may disagree!
No sign of Cookie as yet. Left his favourite nibbles out last night but remain untouched. Trouble is he could be anywhere!!!!!

Morning all :hello:
Taplady - ((hugs)))))))))) esp for you today.
Well Mum and Dad have just left, so think that me and the cat will have an hour on the sofa before I do anymore. Was up early to watch the cricket .....:(
Am planning on not hitting the sales today, but preparing a budget for 2007 instead. I also want to get out my sewing machine and have a go at threading it up ( I've had it about 15 years, but can't remeber the last time I used it ..... well I can it was the dreaded curtains , cushions and blinds evening class I took with a 'mate' in the early 90's)
, If I manage to get it going I will finally get my lavendar bags done and then I maybe able to start looking at what next ..... have always fancied quilting
Hope that you all have a great day today and try and get some rest or planning, have to admit I love Christmas but the week before New Year I love more as I love the planning for change in the coming year.
Have fun

Morning all!:hello: I'm SO looking forward to today, a day of 'rest' after all the madness of the past week or so.
<hugs> to Crazychik and PennyPincher:grouphug: I hope you're feeling better soon. Also to taplady, it's a tough thing to have to go through at this time of year.
Yesterday was brilliant! We had our Christmas dinner as my family all came over for the day and I have to say that it was truly the yummiest I've ever managed to produce! We were STUFFED :rotfl: My only slight disappointment was that the turkey was smaller than I'd wanted and so I only have the two legs left to make into something else, apart from the carcass of course which will be made into stock in the slow cooker tomorrow.
I'm so glad I found this site about two years ago! My Christmas was made so much easier by all the helpful hints and tips I've picked up on here; the planning and the preparation so that my holidays went really smoothly :j .
Today I'm puttering about, LOADS of washing to plough through, there's some braising steak cooking in the SC for a steak and ale pie for supper, the clearing up is largely done so most of the day is MINE, all MINE :T
Breakie: crumpets
Lunch: ? probably leftovers
Dinner: steak and ale pie, mashed potatoes and some of yesterday's leftover red cabbage, scrummy.
Have a lovely peaceful day, everyone!

My sore throat is a bit better today, but I am still battling to sleepAh well
Another quiet day (every day is quiet when there is just 2 of you). I kinda miss the chaos and fun of a family Christmas like you have all had.
Anyway, have a great day xxxSave the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -

(((Taplady)))
Hope you all are well and enjoyed Xmas, we had a nice Xmas- quiet day Xmas day with just us then mad one yesterday with everyone over here. House is resembling a bomb site and washing basket is full up so will have a day of pottering around doing bits and pieces. Need to spend an hour or so in my office too.
After New Year will sort out my budgets and also my time. Going to get organized this year.
Loads of food leftover so no real menu plan this week but definately having turkey, gammon and chips later. Will be turkey curry tomorrow.
Best get on - have a great day all.0 -
morning everyone
OH has got Shingles  supposed to be off visiting my parents and sisters, and also my gran today - seeing parents and sisters isn't a problem as they've all had chickenpox and it's only contagious if you haven't had them, but my gran hasn't had them so I think I'm going to have to brave that evil by myself (though may take a sister along for moral support :rotfl: )
No OS really today, just a general tidy-round before we set off, and I'll probably put WM on too. Back at w**k tomorrow - at 7am  which means getting up at 5.30  May also clear out my present/card/wrapping cupboard to see what I have in there and what I will need to buy over the coming weeks in the sales...
Have a good day everyone - enjoy the rest if you're still off work! :grouphug: to those who are poorly0 -

Visiting friends is now sorted, they have just phoned asking if we could change it to tommorrow as one of their kids is abit under the weather.
So me and dh have just had mass clear up downstairs, hoovered and dusted, sorted out the masses of rubbish into the correct bins/boxes, and i will now get ready and tidy upstairs.
I am going to phone up some of our close friends and invite them round later, so hopefully they will be able to come.
I to am going to sort out the budget for 07, dh gets paid on fri and need to set new targets for clearing debt and get some money saved for next xmas,b.days ect.
I am also going to atempt to stop smoking in the new year AGAIN, but not told dh yet as he will just laugh as i have attempted so many times before and failed.!!!!
Have a good day all

morning everyone:hello:
I made a start on putting the xmas stuff away yesterday. Al the bottles of smellies in the newly decorated bathroom (done for us as a surprise pressie by the IL whilst we were in disneyland Paris last week:T ). DH tidied up kitchen and after lunch we went to my mums for tea.
I enjoyed it but whilst my 3yo is no problem, my sister has twins a year younger than my son and after a while their playing together nicely turns into fall-outs:rolleyes: , so DH took our 2 away when they started becoming too whingey, leaving me with no kids:j and plenty of booze:D . When I came home I found the front room tidy and was told that all the toys had been put upstairs in their bedroom for me to sort out, and yes they have, in true DH tidying fashion:mad: which means throw everything into a carrier back and dump it. He'd not even seperated the 2 kids stuff, which considering we have a 3yo girl into dolls and a 6yo boy into lego and construction kits it wasn't exactly hard to work out whose was whose:rolleyes:
I've spent the morning trying to sort out the mess *helped* by two kids. Next year DH is saving holidays and NOT slinking back to work on the 27th leaving me to it!0
