  • Following the dramas of the car last weekend & thinking the car would JUST make it to the weekend, to allow me to work on it & hopefully fix it. Well that didn't happen!

On Thurs night when I went to leave work the car wouldn't start, after spending 15 mins trying to get it to start with my manager, we gave up & he gave me a lift home.

Friday my manager kindly picked up a couple of parts that I was hoping would resolve the issue, although in the process of diagnosing the issue I've found at least another 3 jobs I need to complete when I get it back. I fitted the new parts during my lunch break & to my utter dismay it still wouldn't start!!!! :(

Therefore another phone call to the recovery service - after another diagnoses, it ended being towed to a local (to my work) garage. Which I'm annoyed with myself for letting it be towed as think would prob have it fixed by now if had! As spoke to garage last thing Friday & they said wouldn't be able to do anything till Monday & then didn't give me any indication how long it would take!!!!

This made getting into work v.difficult sat & now worried that won't be able to go to my 2nd job Tues evening if don't get it back - also not sure if should tell them now, to give them as much time as poss to cover me or wait till I've spoken to the garage Monday?!?!?!

To top it all off our laptop is playing up big time & despite a couple of attempts I haven't managed to fix it yet!

With everything going on means my MSE hasn't be going to plan - in the mean time I've increased my DD on my T**** C/C as I keep getting letters saying I've only paid the minimum or close to over the last 6 months. Not sure if increasing the DD is positive or negative, it's going to make things more difficult this month due to other expenses but will clear the balance quicker. Fingers crossed things will be OK.

Rant over - do feel better now :)

  • Finally got the car back today!!! :)

Garage bill was £78 in end, which to be honest with you was cheaper than expected but the fault was something I could have done myself - so that's given me the kick up the a*** that need to get jobs been putting off done!

Missed a shift at 2nd job 2night because of car, which is a pain as all money needed atm.

Was feeling really irritable & on edge this evening, therefore headed upto bed. Won't have help had 2 get up xtra early while car in garage as having to catch train & lifts with a work colleague. So pleased get a 'bit' of a lye in now :)

Right must try & get some sleep now - night all :)

  • Well I have well & truly managed to slip off the wagon recently!

With, on going, car issues, family bereavement & lack of any form of motivation my MSE has slipped!

Having just seen my signature & realising I haven't achieve any where near the goal of paying things off that I had wanted by this stage, will hopefully kick me back into gear!

  • Well the car is back in the garage, all be it a different garage this, as it decided it didn't want 2 play this morning when I got in it to go to work!

Had the ** out again & a very helpful patrol man tested a few items, determining it the Dizzy (which was the original diagnostics). So fingers crossed it'll get sorted out this time!!! At more expense of course :(

Looked in my accounts this morning & had that horrible shock of not having as much as thought I would in them! Not sure where it's all gone this month, well apart from the car parts!

Really need 2 pull my finger out & get bck on the wagon to busting these debts before they start going in the wrong direction again . . .

  • Great news - today the last payment for one of my credit cards was taken :j 1 down 1 to go :)

Not so great news, the cars back in the garage :(

Thought I would test the water on the job front as well so spent this morning updating my CV & applied for a job local to me, meaning I would save HUGH amounts on traveling - not 100% sure what the pay is yet but we'll wait & see. Also my p/t job boss has been asking if I would be interested in coming back to be a manager with him again (as he's my old boss). so it's now a waiting game . . .

Not been feeling that great recently - works been getting me down & my neck & back having been playing up.

Had a sports massage for the 1st time last night & it wasn't as bad as I thought, necks aching today but she did warn me about that, so what & see how it feels over next couple of days.

I sat down & re-did our joint & my personal budget the other day, which in theory we break even on both but we never seem to have enough each month. Think going to have to start my daily spend diary again to see where it's all going. :( as again had to borrow monies from another pot to cover my own account this morning

  • Well after feeling disheartened by things generally for the last few weeks, not helped by struggling this month due to car repair bills AGAIN (meaning I've had to take a loan repayment holiday next month) I decided to try & kick start my MSE again - which in turn will hopefully make me more positive again.

So after looking into my credit cards I decided to try a bit of a shuffle, as didn't fancy trying to apply for new credit, as last time tried it wasn't successful & didn't want to effect my credit record any further!

    Sooooo I've got £2000 on my T*sco C/C @ 15.76% APR & £0 on my H*lifax C/C @ 19% APR (I've also got £500 on my O/D with Ll*yds).

After a unsuccessful call with T*sco, where I jst had a flat 'no' to being able to reduce my APR. Which didn't help the confidence!

Then, after spending approx 10mins on hold to spk to H*lifax, I got through to a VERY helpful chap, who said I had jst had an offer of 0% for 6 months added to my account - however there is another department who might be able to provide a better offer. After providing me with a 0800 number that I could call to prevent holding for longer on a 0845 number, he then said he has processed a £5 refund to my C/C to cover the cost of my phone call!!! That just earnt H*lifax brownie points!

So phoned other department on 0800 number & was offered 0% for 9 months (with a 3% balance transfer fee). As my current limit is £1100 I could only transfer £1000, therefore asked if could up my limit but got turned down. Not all lost as went ahead with transferring £1000 at cost of £30 (3%) fee, meaning only paying interest on half of my C/C debt

I also changed accounts payment is coming from to own account rather than joint & for the time being the min monthly payment (although this wont be the actual amount I'm paying).

This now means I should be able to pay that £1000 off before the 0% runs out (although I have put a reminder in my phone to make sure I don't fall victim to the end of the promotional rate) & can focus on paying the T*sco card off as on a higher APR.

That's deffo given me the boast I needed as feeling a lot more positive now :j
