just A WARNING to be very careful with debenhams - they only EVER do exchanges on any item bought in the sale - NO REFUNDS - so if it doesnt fit and there are limited sizes in the sale to exchange it for you only get an exchange - who wants to lock their money up in a company like that?!! - what sort of company is that nowadays!!??!!
ONLY BUY IF YOU ARE 100% SURE YOU WANT IT!!
Also if an item goes more than 70% off they dont even exchange - no refund, no exchange!!

While I see where you are coming from I can see why Debenhams have such a refund policy during their sale
They want to rid off old stock - That's what a sale is all about.
Russell & Bromley have had a similar policy as long as I can remember.
I don't see what the problem is as long as they grant customers their staturory right.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

I agree with this too if you are getting at a genuine 70% off take a chance. They won't be making money on it and so do not want it returned weeks later when they won't be able to sell at all.
I am the first to love a bargain but would be gutted if our traditional department stores all disappeared off the high street and WH Smith and Marks and Spencers and the like. I feel convenience and pleasure to shop need to be taken into account as well as price.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
I totally disagree. In the last January sales I wanted to pick 70% off items up for members of my family, as they were such bargains, but you cant, as you cannot get refunds.
Saying that I read behind the counter this year, that you can get a refund on items reduced more than 50% if you pay with a Debenhams card.0 -
You sure about this, I bough something today that was from 70 to 35, and was told I could take it to any Debenhams store and get a refund or an exchange?0

In a shop like Debenhams you can always exchange for something else as they stock almost everything. If things are 70% off then we are not talking large sums here. I would risk it and still buy for others myself.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
Always remember that the retailer does not have to refund simply because you have changed your mind, ie. it does not fit, do not like the colour. If they are happy to take it back and you get a credit note or exchange it is more than they are legally obliged to do.SallyD0

It was a huge red sign behind the till in the Sheffield Fargate store. Sure that is what it said, as I always notice the small print. Bet it is new proceedure that the staff dont know about.0
