She said yes anyway!!!! But not liking the look of the venues she choosing think i might have to go stand on a street corner to amke a few extra bob.
I had a wonderful time in london with mum watching mamma mia. My mum gave me 1k for my bday couldnt believe it. She said i wasnt to pay off any debts i had to spend it on myself. I didbuy some boots from duo as i have really fat legs but could have cried as they were 150 quid, but i just look at it as a pressie from mum. The rest i put in savings account until i really need it.
My dad has paid for us to go to london in new year to see wizard of oz so we got the new year there and come back on the 4th which is great 4 nights in london so excited! Also going to westlife in may with a night in cardiff from my darling sisters so cant wait until that either. i got thoroughly spoilt it was lovely. My daughters bought me a kindle so no more clogging the shelves with books!!!!!

Think i ahve been ripped off by an advertising company at work. They have had 630 quid from out account and have not had any advertising from them. Have been so preocupied was only when i went through the paperwork the other night that i realised there was a problem and nbothing had happened. So iranted this morning and they were like oh we didn realise there was a rush! A rush i started it in septemeber for the christmas adverts. They werelike we can do it now for you errrr no i think it a tad to late to be adverising for xmas. idiots.
I keep looking around me at the moment and i am sure i have something on my forehead that says please come and rip me off im rally skint and vunerable but its ok!!! • Hi everyone

So sorry for my rant on Monday been having a bad week.
Think its the thought of having to pay for daughters wedding that is causing it it. Havent slept properly all week and have massive red marks under my eyes. Looks like hubby has punched me. Fibromyalgia is giving me hell which is probably the stress and i now bursitis in my hip from all the walking in london last week. But apart from that i fee great lol.
Poor hubby got it today no reason apart from the fact he was trying to help me.
Bless i put the tree up in the front room on sunday and left the conservatory one in the box. He left me in bed this morning to sleep as i was shattered and he got up and put the tree up. I was thinking dont think i will bothere this year the kids aint here and we going to mums so i wont put it up. So when i came down he had put the tree up which takes forever as it al individual branches.
I decided to put the lights on and cause i was so stiff by the 3rd attempt i dumped them on the top of the tree and walked away.
He said 'well i take that as a sign to take the tree down? lol so it back in the garage in the box. bless i do give him some grief.
Santander sent a statement for the account today and they havent put the charges back as promised. sigh. I feel like im in this bubble trying to get at all the people who dont do the things they promise but ive lost my pin and cant get out!!!!
Havent had an email from rip off advertising company.
Had no email back from the company i bought two dinning chairs from should have been here last week. xmas pressie from mum so she having a fit.
And no email back from my daughters furniture that she ahs ordered and should have been here last week.
Put daughters new wardrobe together from argos 319 quid looks nic with slididng doors but the design is terrible and the glass keeps banging ont he screws when the doors open. I phoned up and they said they will take it back if ihave the original packiging lol who keeps that? so i have to find away to box it all up any ideas? they going to give me a refund. i think if we moved house we darent move them they would fall apart. So you can see why this week has been a bit stressy one wedding and chasing all these companies. But as least i can look forward to helping daughter plan for the wedding and gives me an incentive to lose the 2 stone i want to get rid of.
Been having a sort out and ebay stock looking good!!!
Have a brand new nintendo ds that i used 5 times at the most are they a good thing to sell do you know? have loads of agames with it to. dont want to upset hubby but dont use it.
Does anyone do carboot sales alot as id ont know if i went this time of year they would be any good, as it being so cold wondered if they die off at all?
    Advice appreciated folks x

  • Sprry not been on been so busy dont know where the days have gone.

6 sleeps and its xmas!!! went to the panto last night and lee from steps was in it. god he a bit tasty, we sat in front row and daughter got a kiss and so did nanna whos 84, i think she thought he was going to mount her bless her she looked so scared.
Hope you all doing well with your debts. IUm stuill having a mare with santander to the extent i have now lost a stone through stress and have bags under my eyes looks like hubby been beating me!!!
dd2 has her head up her butt and has 'moved out' cause she thinks at 20 she can sulk and get her own way and for once i have put my foot down and she doesnt like it.
DD1 has ideas that her wedding reception is going to cost 10.5k before dresses etc........ i been on the phone to her in tears trying to explain that there is no way that we can afford it. *they dont know about our situation! She is like its ok we going to pay for most of it bla bla god knows how. Think they be better saving for a deposit for a house buty what do i know?

I will be glad when xmas is over might thave to stand on a street corner i think but dont think id get a pound the way i look at the moment.
All the cc companies that we had late payments to have accepted the letter of fault by santander but one..........santander they are hurrendous. i have never known such bad customer service they have closed the complaint in there eyes even though they have not done what they said they would do and it had caused the cc companies all of them to put our interest rates up to 35pc so we have frozen then and just paying them off. ammoying as these are theones we use for business and this is all down to santander. really dislike that bank/
Still 6 sleeps and the niteamare will be over!!!!!!!

I remember years ago my mums work went to a night out and it turned out it was strippers. She was hoorrified and sat with her lighter ready to burn them if they cme anywhere near her :rotfl:. Not quite the same as Lee from steps but your story just reminded me of it.

I'm looking forward to Christmas but am also looking forward to afterwards to get back on the straight and narrow. Keep well xx

  • Hi foks
Been a long month sorry i not been on been wallowing in my own self pity.

Lightbulbs been on and off all month lol!!!!!
At last have hubby on board. We bee doing what we can to pay the bills but never have enough to pay them, so crunch time. My beloved car is going for sale, even though it only worth 4k its paid for so no more petrol and expensive tax and insurance.

I thought my mum understood how bad things are but we went out with her yesterday and she was going on about how we all had to cut down etc and they we went into a department store, so i done some window shopping, and it was quite surreal, that i didnt buy anything. I really wanted 3 dresses and a jumper and i normally would have just bought them, but i didnt!!! yeah!!!!!
Mum was like oh treat yourself. err nooo!!!

She bought 2 coats costing nearly 300 quid and didnt batter ane eyelid. nightmare. And that is cuting down.
Still having major problems with Santander they sasy its sorted but its not 350 compensation so far so see how tht pans out. The compensation is not th eproblem but need ths credit file sorted.

Hope your all supersaving and feeling abit more positive , hopefully when tax etc is paid this month then things wil start looking up. until then......

    Hey Jelly,

Glad hubby is on board and good planning on the car I think you'll notice a big difference not having all those extra expenses.

Blimey I wish I could afford to cut down and still blow £300! Well done you for not spending though its so tempting when you're out shopping and others are spending.

Hope Santander sort it out can't believe what problems you've had with them!

I'm looking forward to Feb, Jan is a bit hand to mouth but better than last Jan when the plastic was battered!!!

  • Hi huni

I have read all your thread this evening and I think you are doing a fantastic job! It's not a crime to treat yourself on occasion so please stop beating yourself up about it.

Don't even get me started on Santander/A&L... They must cause more stress to customers than most of the rest of the banks put together! They don't keep promises and have no empathy whatsoever - even when you are in credit! I hate them so much that even though they would offer me a good incentive to move my account to them, there is no way on this earth I would ever bank with them again. I would rather just start trading in turnips...

Hang on in there, you are doing great. Try not to worry about things you can't change. It has taken me 30 odd years to figure that out. Once you embrace that fact things look a lot better, trust me.
April 2006 - owed just over £30k (the evils of relationship breakup!)
    December 2011 - owe just under £3.5k!!!
February 2012 - owe just under £1900 (keep the overtime coming!)
    May 2012 - owe £600...
