You are still sending me the messages. Thanks.

Just about to have the pud. I love my children (and grandchildren around). I don't like Xmas because of my birthday but love it for everyone else. DH says I go over the score with the kids! I am making up for what I didn't have.. No stocking sooo always did it for DD and DS. She is now so doing it for DGs.

    Love and hugs.

    Happy Christmas everyone.

Got up (the second time) very late so combined breakfast and lunch - slice of home-made wholemeal toast each.

Main meal now: beef and various vege.

Hope today's been good for everyone.

    Where now?
  • Too right, Cat!! Roz, dry your eyes and chalk this one up to experience. In a few short months' time, you'll be laughing about it and resolving to do things differently "next time". :) Hugs!!

  • By the way - I had to tell you.

Last night, MIL took DS and his cousin to the big Cathedral-like Church locally, for the Christingle Service. I tagged along because I like a bit of pomp and circumstance.

Anyway, the church organ was thundering out some seasonal melody or another and I drew DS's attention to the vibrations from it, which were reverberating around the Church beautifully.

He retorted "What's this?? Dracula's HQ???". :rotfl:

    Oh dear, I think he's watched too much t.v. ..... ;)

I feel like crying my dinner was so bad. I will never attempt Xmas dinner again. The beef is/was nowhere near done, despite following Delia's instructions to the letter, the veg was ok - but a bit "mushy" as it had waited around to see what the beef was doing, and my yorkshires (usually perfect) went from undercooked dough to black charcoal in the space of about 20 seconds

So despite OH being really really nice about it all, I'm sat here in tears, trying to figure out which of the parents will be the lesser of two evils to spend Xmas with next year :(

Hope everyone else has a better success rating than me!!!!

Sorry to hear that dinner didn't work out for you Roz - but I hope the rest of the day was wonderful. Don't give up - practice making all those things through the year until you know what to do for each (that's what I did), and hopefully next year will be perfect xxx

Don't feel so bad Roz:grouphug: Dig out the Quality Streets and start catching up, you have to have consummed at least 8500 calories on Christmas Day or you are not allowed to go to bed - them's the rules.:rotfl:

Had a good day, recovering after a nasty bug for 2+ weeks so just getting my energy back :j Dinner was yum - tatties were crispy and roast veg delish. Made a boozy trifle with left over brownies and put rasps in - delish AND there's some left for tomorrow [or later ;) ] Was lucky on the pressie front too so can't complain.

OH gone back to bed he's got the bug now and the cats are flat out so thought I'd come on to the site and see what sort of day folks have had.
Been sitting thinking about family no longer here - can be a bit of a sad time I think. Got to work on some New Year plans now for moving towards being debt free..... watch this space.

Happy Xmas Day evening to one and all :santa2: :xmastree:

and :bdaycake: to those double celebrating
