Sound quality and build quality are both excellent. If you're in the market for a plasma and want something that's less than a grand I don't think you will go far wrong. Seems a great price.

Probably £50 shipping though.
I got mine from Currys for about £780ish with all discounts/cashback included which is about a £170 difference. You pay your money and take your chances with regard to the warranty.0 -
Ordered mine from empiredirect. You can pick it up to save delivery charge (£30). Also you get 2.5% discount for NHS. Also for info you can get it with the pansonic cab all in £974.99 not too bad.0

Got a 37" from Currys for £720 getting delivered next week. I've gotta say I'm very worried about the purple snakes issue but decided to take the gamble. Whoever said there are only 100 or so tvs showing this problem is living in a dream world. I'm a regular on avforums and have read all the lengthy threads about these tvs and there's very few people on there that don't seem to have had a problem to some extent. I just hope that now they have admitted to a problem in Japan they'll offer a fix for all those with problems over here.0

Help - any 10% off currys codes available please?
No, they match only actual bricks and mortar stores with the goods in stock for general purchase. However, they do match Empire Direct, which have some of the most competitive prices on the web.0 -

I'm not living in dreamworld. I have an (almost) perfect px60 that I'm watching now. The fact that you are reading AV forums where people go to discuss problems with AV equipment that they have bought kind of gives a skew on the scale of the problem. I've not read the thread on AV forums for a few days, so more people could have posted faulty televisions. 100 was a round about number (it was actually less) of seperate posters that had the purple snakes problem. There were also just as many people posting saying "how do I find purple snakes - I can't see any" like it was a normal feature.
Sticking my neck out i would say that they have swapped a component or 2 on some of the the batches to cut costs, or have used a faulty batch of a paticular component. Either way I'm happy it's getting sorted as on the whole its a great TV.
On a seperate note, I do have a problem with mine. The AV4 input on the front of the tele only works when you press down on the video cable. I won't send this to get repaired until there is a fix for the purple snakes problem (just in case they swap the set over and I'm unlucky to get one with the purple snakes) - So it may be a good idea to test your AV4 input in case its a common problem.

Have you tried more than one lead in AV4? It could be the lead.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

In stock in John Lewis Milton Keynes today at £919

JL MK had big sign on 37" saying no stock.

With the 5yr warranty of course.
Amusingly displayed on the optional stand that is about £450 - ie maybe proportionate from the days when these type of sets were £4500, but so clearly ludicrous nowadays....0
