Hi all,
Am I just being simple or are there no HDMI inputs for this? I see many good inputs, 3 scart, lots of s-video / phono, etc but no mention of HDMI.
Am I right in thinking this?
Dre... and that's all I have to say about that.0 -
There are 2 HDMI inputs.0

Thanks. I looked at verious websites but couldn't see any reference, could just be being blind though. I also downloaded the manual which shows plenty of SCART references but doesn't even give a full view of the rear. Excellent news though. Just have to figure out where to put it and I think we may well be enjoying 42" of viewing pleasure.
Has anyone got Currys to deliver using the 10% code for iPod yet?... and that's all I have to say about that.0 -
Currys will no doubt honor any orders placed so far, however I can also confirm that the iPod code will either be changed to work only with MP3 or removed altogether. This will be by this afternoon so if anyone wants to use the discount I suggest you do so quickly.0

There are 2 HDMI, 3 SCART, 1 Analogue PC Connection, Component Input. Great connectivity. I looked at it in Comet where it is also £899 and it was sat next to a SONY Bravia LCD. I was amazed that the sony picture was much nicer. I have always been a fan of plasma over LCD but I think the reason is the odd resolution.
The pixels are not square as the screen resolution is 1024x768 where as a wide format screen should have more horizontal pixels. What I particularly noticed is jaggies on text and lines on the screen.
It does seem that this screen price has generally dropped to £899 so I suspect that there is no need to rush out and buy it. There should be enough time take time to go into the shops and look at it first.0 -
Unfortunately looking at the screens in shops is not the ideal way to check out TV screens. For one thing they almost certainly will not have been set up with care and attention... and customers could also have messed about with the settings. Also LCD's tend to look better in bright environments - so are likely to look better in shops. Most people will watch a TV at night in a darkened room (or at least with lower lighting than a showroom) and this environment will tend to suit a plasma.
I looked in shops at the PX60 and must say I was disappointed and concerned with the picture quality... but in the end went with the views of people who actually owned the set from AV Forums. The picture I get at home is far superior to those I saw in the shop - possibly due to me having an aerial which feeds only one TV instead of a shop full.
On the subject of the purple snakes, one of the AV Forum members in Japan (yes one of the 100 in the world!), has had the fault confirmed by Panasonic and is having replacement parts fitted in early January. Hopefully this remedy will be available in the rest of the world shortly afterwards for the other 99 of us.0 -

What you say about shop setups is spot on. I too was very dubious about getting one, even going by what people were saying on AV Forums, I decided to get one in the end and am very, very pleased that I did. It's an excellent tv, you really can't go wrong.0 -
How can you get 5 years warranty?
Also what is the 10% discount code please?
Thanks0 -
John Lewis will price match any bricks and mortar store that has the item, ticketed and in stock on the day with the price you want them to match. https://www.empiredirect.co.uk is a good one, usually very cheap and in stock. Check out the forums on https://www.avforums.co.uk and there is a specific thread to JL pricematches.
