Anyway after seeing it, compared to the Philips 42" LCD, the picture is nowhere near as sharp.
In fact, the Panasonic had the lowest resolution of all the televisions on display!!
I too am pondering over this tv, and i wanted my girlfriends opinion, so i took her into Curry's to look at them. She said the same as you, the Panny looked the worst picture. I admit, it looked more like an analogue picture compared to some, but it must have been a poor signal and ive read loads of great feedback on displaying Digital Freeview and DVDs. Did you test a DVD in each of the TV's ?0 -
NEVER compare pictures you see in currys, dixons, they dont represent true picture quality, resolution on its own does not determine the PQ on its own. I have a px60 and the PQ is much better than other lcds i have seen. The feed you see in shops can be distorted for a whole set of reasons, but like people have said go to avforums and you will see the true reality of PQ compared between plasma and lcds.0

Seen the 37" and 42" pannys on display in Tesco and they had the best picture quality of of all the tvs, must depend on how they've been set up.0 -
...and the lighting conditions. Bright fluorescent lighting in your living room I hope you have not. The Panasonic even has a special mode which seems to have no merit other than making it look acceptable in these conditions...Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

37" OOS at Currys, PC World and Dixons now as they all come from the same warehouse
It killed me to pay more than the dixons price with discount but OH kept on to order it last night when it came into stock at Currys. Got to keep him sweet as I'm using the tv as leverage to get driven around all the sales.:D0 -
Is Dixons really out of stock, cause I just placed an order with them. I tried earlier this afternoon and it said oos and wouldn't let me order, but now I managed to place an order but said I would be expecting a call to confirm stock!?0

Empire Direct called me today to say that the PED version is no longer in stock and it's sold out completely. I was offered the wall version for the same price but I noticed that it's gone up to £899.99 as well on their website.
I'm a bit annoyed as I wanted the PED version!0
