I think you are doing the right thing, your employer do have a duty of care towards you with regard to your health and safety, and if they do not address your concerns (therefore causing undue stress) then they could be in breach of this duty.
Let us know how you get on. I really hope it works out xGone ... or have I?0 -
thats the thing am due to check in for work at 11am. thats why i wanted a reply today
what do i do?0 -
Get on the phone at 9am, or earlier if you can. I know exactly how you feel about your preference for email, but it looks like you are going to have to push it further. Could you go into the office in the morning? If you do this, take someone with you for support.
Have you explained that if you go on this next trip it will increase your stress and so have a negative impact on your performance and your health? (I assume this is the reason you are not wanting to go?). If they are not willing to hear your serious and valid concerns then politely advise them that, because of the effect it will have on your health, you have no alternative but to go on sick leave.
If you have decided not to go on the trip (I'm assuming you have?), then I would clearly state the facts to them, and if they will not help, then sick leave is your only option.
Am online for a little while longer if you need anything else xGone ... or have I?0 -
thats the thing i would have to travel 2 hours for the check in and the office is in the same town aswell.
I do have a new email sitting open and copied all the emails i have normally sent with times and dates etc but also going to send it to another HR person and a manager aswell but i havent sent it yet.
do you have msn and i can show u the emails i have sent and let me know what you think?0 -
Sorry, I don't have msn ...
First of all you need to make the decision as to whether you are going on the trip or not. My gut feeling would be not to go, but obviously it has to be your decision. Once you have made this decision you can move on to the next step, to sort things with work.
Send your next email, explaining that you did try to speak to someone about this today, but that you have had no response. Then explain that you are feeling incredibly stressed out and that you need to take at least a day to calm down and get some rest. Send apologies etc for not going on the trip, but you know it would not be good for your work performance, and most importantly, your health. Reiterate that you just need a day (or more, this is up to you!) and then would be happy to come into the office to discuss your options for the future.
This then gives you some breathing space, and opens up the subject of your future with the company.
If you can get to that stage then you have made a massive step. As to what happens after that, I would try not to think about it until you have made this contact.
About for another twenty minutes or so, but will be back tomorrow if not xGone ... or have I?0 -

well i sent them another email and also inc 3 other ppl in the office and i heard nothing so i never contacted them from there on i got a phone call at 2pm asking why i never turned up for my check in.
I told them i sent the email many times and they wanted me to explain why so i had to tell them briefly over the phone what the email said and they kept going on i should of called them.
I have to go into the office 2mo to talk it over with them but i know whats going to happen. am also going to take a copy of the emails i sent to prove i sent it many times.0 -
Exactly why I advised you to send a copy of the email by post as well (and advised you to phone them......) But you are still on strong ground as you can prove you have tried to email them.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
