TJ Hughes Liquidation Sale

I had a look at the Trespass ladies waterproof jackets yesterday in the Lichfield store and most of them didn't have a tag on them. I found one with only the original Trespass price tag of £25. Another one seemed to have the yellow TJHughes sticker ripped off it. Am sure I'd seen these at less than £20 a few months ago so the 20% off £25 doesn't make them a huge bargain.

Maybe I'm too cynical, but I was disappointed.

I asked in the St Helens store on Sunday, when they were closing down, and the assistant thought it was between 2 and 4 weeks. I asked what was going to happen to all the stock, and she thought they were going to try and sell it all. Don't know if she meant to us, the public, or bigger buyers.

I'm really sad. We don't have a branch in our town, and usually go to Preston, were T J Hughes is our first port of call.

just come back from m'bro one, rubbish have 20% off wranglers £24 so now £20 thought i might get him some bargains but total waste of time seemed no cheaper than before

Has anyone else noticed that they seem to have re-stickered a lot of the clothing - with HIGHER prices! Then there are posters everywhere saying X%discount. Which takes it to about the same price it was before...

Yes!! in the bradford one! i noticed that a lot of the big yellow reduced stickers had been removed only to be replaced with price stickers with higher prices on them (i was in the day before all the closing down sale started) on everything i saw it was about the same price as before if not more expensive. there was some sandals the other week priced at £9.99 now theyre £19.99 with 20% off lowest marked price? odd clearence sale.

Watford branch seemed to have less stock but prices were rubbish.

In one branch they were shipping lots of the stock out in bulk, so I presume they have already got buyers for it.

I saw TJ Hughes stuff in another shop last week so that might well be the case. Are all the shops closing or have some been bought over?
