So whilst not a productive morning in the conventional sense I am pleased.
I hope/believe it will be helpful for you all.Miggy

mollytrundle wrote:hiya, i have been reading this thread and it is amazing what other people are going through. it makes me feel not so alone with my own thoughts.
eighteen months ago i met a wonderful man. he is 49 and with 2 young children and had full custody and was bringing them up alone.
everything was going so well, i got on well with his kids and visa versa.
he went into hospital for a minor op but never made it home.
he had a massive stroke shortly after surgery.
to cut a long story short he cant talk or walk, is fed via a tube in his tummy, and no control over his bodily functions. but he is still all there. he is now in a nursing home over 40 miles away but i go and visit him each week, and i am still in touch with his children.
i love him so much and some days i find it so hard to cope with.
but after reading this thread i don`t feel quite so alone today.
so many many thanks
molly

hello, i added my own personal story to this thread a few weeks ago.
but i lost him on monday. he was just tired of living an existance and not being able to be a proper father. in last the few days he became very sad and crying a lot and passed away in his sleep sunday night.
he was such a gorgeous man and an amazing father. i will miss him so much, he brought so much into my life but at least he at peace. he was 49 years old .
god bless

molly I am so sorry.
what a dreadful thing to have happened. as you said at least it was peaceful which is always a blessing, but you must be devastated.x x x0 -
thankyou. i still doesnt feel real. its feels like i am looking in from the outside. he put up a brave fight for 6 months. he lived for his children, they were his world. always smiling whenever i went to see him. i often took the kids too. we always turned it into a mini party in his room. it looked like a bomb had gone off as we always took some games to play with.. it probably gave him small taste of normality.
he had a wicked sense of humour and his funny lopsided grin (post stroke) will stay with me always.
thankyou
