    thanks Violetta,
I will have a look on the net - maybe one of the special rose growers like David Austin roses would have something special. She already has one with her Christian name but there is probably something else that would be meaningful.

Miggy, we bought a rose to go in the front garden for Ian, it is called 'remember me' and is a lovely peach pink colour.

See you all later, off to nannie's for tea and pressies :)

I am so glad to see that you are all there for each other. I suppose I have been lucky in that the uncles and aunts that have died, did so at a good age sort of thing. So we were sad but not really sad.

Just to let you know that I have the drs booked for tomorrow. I will really try and get across how I feel. Need to get on with my ou course, so I can't let this bl**dy depression hold me back.

  • Hello everybody, and hugs to all. That's what this thread is about, for all of us to give support and help each other, it's so lovely that we can do that without the fear of face to face, when people just don't know what to say, and everyone ends up embarrassed.

I have a half sister, who I vaguely knew about years ago, but didn't get to meet, or really know until my Dad died last June. Her husband died suddenly at the age of 32 on the squash court, leaving her alone in the world with 2 small daughters. She's been through so much in her life and she was so lovely after my (our) Dad died. She's been away travelling in South Africa for 2 months, and although she e-mailed her adventures to me, I didn't tell her about John, as I didn't want to ruin her trip. She texted me tonight to say she was back and was just spending the evening with her daughters and said she will ohone me tomorrow for a catch up. I image it will be a very emotional phone call as I will have to tell her. So wish me luck!
Today has been ok, very busy in work, but a fruitful day and, for one, I managed to get through a load of back log from when I was off.
I'll let you all into a secret too, I bought a car (ekkk). I've never ever owned a brand new car, haggled like mad in a very MSE way, got loads of extras and 0% finance.......I had decided I was going to change my car anyhow, I've had my Peugeot 206 for about 3 years, and although it's about 5 years old, I've just spent money on it constantly. In the past 4 months I've spent £600. So I decided enough was enough, now I'm on my own without John, and the fact that I do a lot of mileage with work, safety and reliability are foremost needed.
So, I went and bought a new Mazda 3.........omg, I can't believe I did it, got a good price for my trade in, i've been looking around for about 3 months now and loved the Mazda straight away (I've had one before).
So there we are, I've been a naughty girl and it feels good. I'm using some cash my Dad left me, but as it's 0%, I can leave the cash where it is, just pay deposit with my part ex and little more cash, and the rest I'll pay monthly with my works car allowance. I'm VERY pleased with myself.

I love the idea of a rose bush too, but am rubbish a keeping pplants going, I may buyone in a pot, so if I ever move, I can take it with me. My brother has a rose bush from my Dad's garden and has replanted it in his.

Good luck at the doctors chev, you are strong, it just tskes some people a while to realise they are, you'll get there and we're all behind you.

AnW'sMum. Happy birthday to DS, I hope you coped, (I know you did, cos you are one of the strongest people I know), I hope he had a lovely time.

I'm going out for tea on Thursday after work with a couple of friends to the local Wetherspoons, I've not been there since John and I went a few months ago, so I'll be strong.

Take care all, and please, anyone who needs support, and ear or a hug, just come on here and we'll all rally round.

    Trust me...........It helps :)

    Love

    Hi everyone

It's not been too bad today, was dreading it, all the memories etc, but it was the good memories that came forward. DS had a great day, didn't want to open his cards but needed no help with his presents! lol

He had a load of Thomas and train stuff so he was well pleased. Had a lovely party tea at Nannie and Grandad's and saw some of his cousins so a good result all round. They are both in bed absolutely shattered so should sleep well.

Stormy if I can keep a rose bush alive then anyone can, Ian and I used to say we could kill off a rock garden

Will be thinking about you and your phone call tomorrow, you will be strong but I know it will be tough. We will all be thinking of you and sending you hugs.

Congrats on getting the new car :) I bet you drive everywhere with a silly grin on your face, I know I do whenever we change our car lol. Talking of which I must remember to take mine for repairing after the school run tomorrow. My memory is like a sieve these days, always forgetting what I am supposed to be doing.

Hugs to all those that want/need them

    xx
