Shelanne will be thinking of you especially this weekend, I know it's going to be extra tough for you. Hope the party goes as well as it can and remember Keith will be there with you all even though it is not how you planned it.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0

Hi Shelanne, how did the party go? Have been thinking of you this past few days. I hope it went OK, and that you remembered to take care of you too. S xxxOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Hi there everyone, thanks for your lovely comments kazwookie, and hi to Sary and all. How are you Shelanne? I hope you've managed over the past few days, with Easter and the Party and everything. I hope, as Sary says, that you have looked after yourself too.
I have had a productive long weekend and have finally emptied John's wardrobe and drawers. It actually wasn't as bad as I expected though, I sat on the floor many times and remembered lovely memories from each piece of clothing and different objects.
I kept a memory box and it was comforting in a strange sort of way. Most of the stuff went to the heart foundation charity shop, which, maybe in some small way, may help someone else.
Please keep on surviving ......................... we will get there

Hi everyone, thank you for all your kind comments and support.
Well I survived the weekend; Easter, party and birthdays. managed it but, oh boy it was tough! Have cried a lot, feel exhausted now completely.
I'm usually very positive but it has been such an effort, can it be worth it? Despite titanic strength from myself Easter and the girls birthdays were pale in comparison to what they would have been with Keith here. All the keeping strong, taking one day at a time, etc etc is never going to restore my life to the happiness I once knew. Can't really think of another option though.
Should probably go to bed. I'm very tired, might look different after some sleep!
Take care everyone, hugs to all. Shelanne.0 -
Morning all
Well done Shelanne on getting through the last few days, can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you all. The main thing is you did it and Keith would be so proud of youLife will never be the same and I think that is the thing we all struggle with. You now need to give yourself some time to get over the last few days which are likely to have depleted any energy reserves you had.
Well done to you too Stormy for sorting John's clothes. It's not something I am ready to do yet. Since the inquest I feel like I have gone back almost 2 years although it is not quite so bad. But there are times when I feel very wobbly and wish I could just run away from it all. I have to go and get the final certificate in the next few days. They say I can do it by post but somehow that does not feel right. Oh well onwards and forwards.
Hugs to everyone xxxOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Hi everyone I've just read alot of this thread and its nice to virtually meet you all... I'm a counsellor so I deal with bereavement alot but still this thread made me cry... The thing with loss is that no two people grieve the same and I am often asked 'am I going mad' and also as one 'phase' passes people often think they have come through that to then find it sweeps right back and hits them full force again so they think that they are going backwards but in actual fact its like a whirlpool of emotions that keep coming back round and we just hope that in time that as the whirlpool comes round again the feeling is a 'little' less painful. Take care all xxx
AnWsMum it seems to have been such a long time after you lost your husband that they had the inquest so no wonder you feel you are reliving it I haven't read all the way back so I don't know why that is your experience but hugs to you xx
