  • Hi Stormy and all you other lovelys, well Stormy I am so pleased that you have done something that you have decided to do for yourself (if you know wha I mean) You sound soooo positive and so well. I am glad that you had a fab time in Turkey.
I am here wondering what I am doing here though sometimes - survived my dads birthday (first without him) and I too have realised that he is NOT coming back, its hard as I have no other family around me except of course hubby and kids (u know wot i mean) and all hubbys family are in sunny Portugal-which once all is sorted with my dads estate is where we may end up!!!
My eldest went off to uni 2 weeks ago, my DS2 was 18 on Thurs and is busy filling in his UCAS personal statements etc at 6th form for next year, leaving hubby and I wondering if we should up and off with DS3 who is 13 and DS4 who is 11.
I have wanted to post on here for ages and just havnt been able too, all will come good in the end but right now that seems to me to being a long way away.......
For now LOVE and HUGS to YOU ALL

Hi , just wondered how thing's are going Stormybay, was on the Xmas board and someone has posted a nice poem idea for a Xmas gift, made me think of you I hope all is well with you and the kid's. x
    Booo!!!
  • Aw Violetta, how lovely of you to think of me. I can hardly believe that I have managed to survive this long, It has been over 10 months now since we lost John, and, with the help of great friends and people on here, I've managed to move very slightly forward.
Lots of people on this thread have suffered so much heartbreak in one form or another and to see other people cope is awe inspiring to me.
In the past 10 months, I really feel that I have been living on a different plain. Still, everyday, I wonder when John will be home, or where he is, or just wonder what will happen today. I suppose, we don't really heal, just get used to living (surviving), under this sort of disbelief.
I had bad news this week, in the fact that there is a new management restructure in work. At the moment, there are 12 managers and these are being culled down to 4 posts!!
We, the 12 managers, now need to apply for the 4 available posts, application form, presentation and interview, all so be done within a week. To say that this has, once again, knocked my confidence, is an understatement. I missed John so much, as I felt I had no one to talk this through with, to hug me and tell me all would be ok.
Therefore, I have spent most of the last 2 days crying. If I am not sucessful at the 4 available posts, there are 2 de-motion posts available, if not successful there, we will be made redundant on 30th November. Which, by the way, is John's birthday, the first one without him!
So, to think that you are thinking of me at this time, is so lovely, for that I thank you.
So, I sit here at midnight with a blank power point slide in front of me, wishing I had the balls, and the money, to take voluntery redundance, go on gardening leave as of today and have enough cash to last till January. If I could, I could stay at home, finish my kitchen (nightmare in itself), and try to survive this Christmas with my lovely family and friends.
It's just a shame that I can't afford to do this and am to scared to look for another job..................wish me luckxxx

    Love and hugs to all.

Hello to all of you. With Christmas approaching I have been thinking of you Stormy for it was the OP's original concern for people in tricky positions at Christmas which was the start of your everso brave journey.

I am glad that you are carrying on as you can and hope that Rosie is still happy at school. My DS2 started at secondary school in September and it is a big step. They take it so well though don't they.

I know in time you will reach a decision about your job, I do beleive that opportunies present themselves to us when we are ready to accept them.

Hugs to you all Dusty x

    Dear stormy

I was in the kitchen just a moment ago thinking of Christmas and suddenly remembered you and how it had nearly been a year. I just wanted to say that I have lost a loved one just before Christmas and I know it makes this time of year a time of mixed blessings, emotions and memories.

My thoughts are with you and your family this Christmas.

    With much love

Thanks, mp, for reminding me of this thread - I, too, was thinking about 'stormy' only today, as well as all of those who got some comfort from this thread throughout the year.

Stormy - I hope things are going well for you, and that you will be able to have a good and peacefull Christmas.

Thanks rog2, I of course should also say I'll be thinking of others who will find sweetness and sadness in this Christmas.

Sorry not to mention everyone else, such as AnW'sMum :o
