E-mail is free, does Hotmail/MSN/Windows Live, Yahoo, AOL, etc charghe you for sending an email. NO they dont you sign onto the Internet, not an email so you are clearly wrong,

'Free' e-mail providers such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. are paid for by advertising and by the revenue they create by selling your personal data and the data collected from e-mail transmissions, to third parties.

This advertising and information gathering is paid for by corporations, which in turn get their money from the consumer (i.e. you and I).

As I said, at some point either you, or somebody else, will be paying for it. :)

And that isn't taking into account the cost of your ISP, the cost of the computer/using an internet cafe, etc.
Just think before you type and hit the submit button.

And yes your post has been REPORTED.

Would you be so kind as to tell me on what grounds you have reported me?

Did I say that you will pay to get onto the Internet. Yes I did
You sign onto the Internet no email
And who cares if your personal details are being used. The UK goverment sells your details onto these companies to, so whats the point. Use the free email, etc...

Stunning silence to my last post, so, let's try & put the record straight by looking closely at yours (I'm sure I'm going to regret it as I suspect it won't work with you but as my integrity has been maligned, I feel the need to defend it).

You like hijacking peoples threads, - please can you list any & all threads I have 'hijacked'. I have contributed to many, but never knowingly 'hijacked' any.
it is ILLEGAL TO SIGN PEOPLES NAMES - no it isn't, this has been explained to you many, many times.
UNTIL YOU LEARN THAT JUST KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. - hardly in the spirit of MSE rules of be nice to everyone.
And my is genuine complaints of PF and RM - I didn't say it wasn't, but it has been aired ad infinitum and dealt with by RM/ PF. The police weren't interested in your complaint, you haven't said how you got on with Postwatch, & some of us here are dying to hear when you will be taking PF to court.
PF and RM steal stuff we all know it - yes some staff do, I've seen it on the telly, & those that do are prosecuted. But I bet its less than in most other organisations. And anyway, that doesn't mean the entire company is a mafia front, or is institutionally crooked.
you are just to affair to say it incase they stop delivering post/parcels to your address - No, I won't say it because its not true. As far as I know, none of my post has been stolen by postmen. I have been thoroughly messed about by RM & PF (see previous posts) but they haven't stolen anything from me or defrauded me. They also have an obligation to deliver to every address in the UK (though I recall a couple of news stories about refusing to deliver to unsafe addresses and remote addresses where the access path was too dangerous).

Please try not to be too emotional in any response and stick to the facts.

Thank you. You're inability to respond intelligently or coherently to my points proves my arguements. I rest my case.

Now lets leave this thread to the OP & those who want to help.

  • You have not made a cast you have no proof that its legal to sign other persons names.

I would say dont mess about with other persons comments. And You just like to make the thread about you and will shout over those who are helping.
  • I just wanted to ask any posties or anyone else who has had personal experience of the difference between 1st and 2nd class. Yes, yes, I know what the difference is SUPPOSED to be, but on an ebay forum recently someone said that when they sent mail 2nd class, it got there quicker than 1st class, and someone else joined in and said they found it made no difference. Any inside info about how 1st/2nd post is sorted?

I think that on the whole RM provide a good service, and in my opinion well worth the money. Since I have been regularly selling my highly desirable used items on amazon, the PO staff have started to be more flexible with their interpretation of the 'large letter' rules.

My postman in particular is a bit of a local hero, he has been known to try and deliver my parcels a second and even third time on the same day, and when I used to work close to home, he would drop them in to me at work if no-one was in at home.

Having read earlier on this thread that postmen/women get 1.5p for each junk mail item they deliver, I am even more surprised at that postman who became notorious a while back for encouraging his customers to reject junk mail delivery. I was thinking about opting out of the junk mail via post thing, but if it helps the postman, I won't bother.

I find that postmen/women deliver a far superior level of customer service than courier persons. One incident in particular springs to mind; I was asked to take in a 'packet' for a neighbour by a courier. I agreed, signed and then the 'packet' turned out to be a 7 foot by 4 foot box that was way too heavy for me to lift and would not fit through my front door. I told the courier that there was no way I could take in a box of this size, and he said " you've signed for it now" and promptly drove off.
