• Hi there,
The email address lee@balmermedia.co.uk worked for me. He replied straight away and is currently trying to arrange a replacement table. I got shirty and demanded a refund and it seemed to work. I'd try Lee and hopefully he should help. If not, I definitely wouldn't let Groupon off the hook, try this website there maybe more help on the Facebook Groupon Complaints Page or measuredup.com have a whole area dedicated to Groupon complaints.
good luck

• Response from email contact is now as follows:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Balmer media Ltd has been put into liquidation.

Good luck to anyone who still has a complaint outstanding
• Oh great - well I still have a faulty item so I'm going to pursue with KGB and/or Paypal. Thanks very much for the info
• I received my furniture, but I never received my weather covers. I emailed them many times with no response. I did manage to get them on the phone a few times and was told I'd have them in the next week. I never got them. Two weeks ago, I found that I could no longer call City Living and was advised (from the recorded message) to email them. I emailed them again, but no response. I also tweeted the CEO of Balmer Media on Twitter, but again, no response.

Today, I found out they have gone into administration. I am not surprised. Google Checkout will not do anything because it's been more than 90 days, so I will have to follow up with my credit card company. :(
• Have been waiting for refund since September as the base went rusty, was told i would get a refund by a member of staff who has since left.

Decided to send details to Credit card company and was checking today saw company has gone into liquidation, checked credit card company and have recived a refund. :D

Still can't money back for covers :(
• Hi I have had an email from groupon saying they will refund my voucher ( I received the furniture but very late and not used it yet) They tell me they will refund everyone who bought the deal whether or not they got the furniture.
To claim for delivery or covers or faulty items you need to contact the receivers enquiries@philmoreandco.com
Good luck
Never using groupon again!

Pebbythedog,
To be fair to groupon, I'm personally glad they have finally stepped in and offering refunds to outstanding orders and those who have already received their furniture. The quality of the goods must be bad if they're refunding the money regardless, and it's quite an honest gesture for them to make, albeit late.

with the experience we've all had, especially since the company has gone into administration, where does our contract lie, in terms of purchasing the goods? Is it with groupon, or with the company itself? Personally it would appear to be Groupon, as they take the main payment and then it's Groupon who have a contract with the company to supply the goods to the voucher holder? Seemingly murky waters.

I'm glad I got my refund in before the company folded, but next time I'll definitely use a credit card for that peace of mind that I can get my money back one way or another.
• I just received a letter from Virgin who I tried to put a claim in with and this is what the said

Thank you for your correspondence regarding a dispute with Groupon for £299.

On review of the documantation you have provided it appears that you have paid City Living, who in turn used a money transfer company called Groupon. When a claim is assessed through section 75, it is considered whether the parties involved formed part of the debtor (customer) - Creditor(card issuer) -supplier (merchant) agreement.

The agrement outlined above was between MBNA and Groupon. We believe it was city living who breached their contractual obligation to you, therefore there is no debtor (customer) - Creditor (card issuer) - supplier (merchant) agreement.

On this basis, we are not able to accept a claim is valid through section 75 of the consumer credit act.

Kind Regards

Customer Services

I am only thankful that I have recived my refund from GROUPON else I would have lost my money.

Let this be a lesson even if you use you credit card you are not covered for Groupon deals
• Luckliy KGB Deals seem to be taking the same approach to Groupon. They have said a cheque has been posted as a full refund. My table was ropey and I was a day or so away from getting a replacement before they went under, so this is welcome news. Looks like no-one will be left out of pocket.....
• Hi all

Has anyone actually received their refund fro Groupon? I was sent an email from them on 5th December saying that the refund had been processed and would be refunded to my credit card within 5 working days. Since then, I have emailed them twice to see where the refund is...it's now the 18th December, and there's no sign of any refund...

Would I be within my rights to contact the OFT...especially as Groupon aren't responding to me?

Regards
