Groupon - CityLiving furniture delivery

But I don't want a refund ! After waiting for 12 weeks I want the furniture I have paid for !!0
-
Well after ordering this furniture on 27 May and being cheesed off several times waiting for it to arrive as the summer slowly slips away - it arrived yesterday!!! :T We're really pleased with it as it looks exactly like it did on the groupon pic and it's actually really quite comfy. We think it is worth the £300 we paid for it but there's no way it was worth the £1100 city living were making out it would normally retail at - really nice set though. We got a phone call the day before to say they would be delivering yesterday between 10 and 1pm (it arrived at 1.30pm!!). - phone call was quite short notice but we were just pleased it was acually coming atall! Only thing we're not too pleased about is that we ordered the protective outdoor cover at an extra cost of approx £30 which didn't come with the furniture. I phoned up to chase this and was told they are expected in on approx. 12 September and will be posted out then - so we gotta wait another month! But if you're hanging fire and waiting for the torpedo to be delivered at least I can tell you that they do eventually arrive and is actually a very nice set of garden furniture.0

This is the first time I have ever entered into a forum like this, however, after being part of the "wheres my garden furniture" brigade, I would just like to make the comments that after waiting 12 weeks our furniture finally arrived yesterday, seat covers and all!! I will say though, I too am glad that I didnt pay full price as to me it only barely scraps through at paying £299 for it - it does look like the pic only its a lot smaller than I expected! In fact I wish I had now gone to B&Q or the Range and picked a simlar one up for a similar price way back when!! Never mind,:( a lesson learnt and it isnt too bad, and it does stack - just dont expect too much and in my opinion, not worth the wait!0

I too bought the torpedo set through Groupon and redeemed my voucher on 31st May (the earliest date that you could redeem it) with a 3 week delivery, and suprise, suprise, still no furniture!! Groupon also did the tracking page, but my delivery was still TBC, which is what it has always been. I complained to Groupon several times and asked if anyone had actually received their furniture. They seemed to think that half the people had...yeh right, so I told them that I would like a refund as I had now been waiting 11+ weeks and I didn't believe I was ever going to receive it. They apologised and were happy to give me £299 worth of groupon credit vouchers!!! Cheek. Obviously I have said no to this and they are giving me a full refund to my card, Google checkout have refunded the £29.95 delivery. Won't use groupon again, they need to be checking on goods that they put on their site. Whole thing, a complete waste of time!!0

Well I have it and ..... its ok but no more ! I doubt though that I would have paid the 329 for it had I seen it in a shop. The stacking doesn't seem particularly robust. Also can anyone else who has it confirm that to stack you need to unbolt the base from the table each time ? Quite inconvenient if so.0

We too have waited since May and have finally received the furniture - over two separate deliveries! We are still awaiting the cover and have received a chrome base for the table that does not match the picture and does not fit together very well.
Can I ask those that have finally received the set what base have they received please?
I agree with the other reviews that it is smaller than I imagined it would be and doubt I would have paid any more than the offer had I seen it in a shop.0 -
Hi Yes we have a chrome base which bolts to the bottom of the table . It appears that this then has to be bolted and unbolted everytime the set is stacked and unstacked ? The middle of the stacking system in particular doesn't seem very stable as it is just the little feet of one larger chair sitting on the rim of the other larger chair.0

Well, I wonder if anyone has had this furniture? We all seem to be in the same boat - the one with the furniture in it??! I continually email Groupon - who follow up with, "we will check" - then come back and say "it is out of our hands", and then ask me to rate the feedback.
I continually ask for a refund in an email to City Living and hear nothing back.
Having read this forum now - I will call tomorrow and demand a refund - this offer, as good as it sounds, is it seems, too good to be true.
I paid up May 21st in full -so surely I should be first in-line?
This has been more useful than any info from Groupon, or the non-existant info from City Living.
I will never buy a Groupon deal again either.
Please someone report if they ever do get this furniture - seems very doubtful to me, almost 4 months on!!!0 -
It's reassuring in a way I'm not the only one experiencing these problems and we're starting to gather on this forum. I've decided I no longer want this furniture as it isn't worth the money and summer's nearly over now.
Firstly, I phoned CityLiving (Bauer Media) asking for a refund. They advised contacting Groupon for a refund of the £299, once this has been processed I will automatically receive a refund on the delivery charge processed through Google Checkout.
Emailed Groupon on Tuesday asking for a full refund to my card. Allowed two business days where I haven't received any response except for an acknowledgement email with a support ticket number. Tried calling them, no answer after 6 1/2 minutes.
If I don't receive a full refund within a few days (more than reasonable considering we've been patient for nearly 4 months), I'll approach BBC Watchdog to give my thoughts on the Groupon process for handling complaints and refunds with their suppliers.
On another note, I've spotted on Homebase's website a very similar looking "Egg Garden Set - Wicker effect" for £229.00 (was £349.00). This looks exactly the same as CityLiving's Egg set for £699.00.
Could go some way to explaining their pricing structure...0 -

Contacting watchdog won't get your refund quickly!
You need to send them a letter before action then proceed to MCOL if they ignore it.
