  • Morning all! My, you're all early birds this morning! :santa2: I'm up early too since DD and I are off to a rehearsal at 9.30 for our concert tonight, she's the solo violinist and I'm singing with my little group of eight so the poor audience will be treated to a family 'do' :rotfl:

Not sure how long the rehearsal will last this morning but at some point today I've got a mountain of ironing to plough through and also want to clean the bathroom properly. Have another quick rehearsal later on this afternoon so it will be a bit of a rush job I think. Oh well.

Tomorrow DH and I have got to collect the turkey from the supermarket (NOT looking forward to THAT scrum  ) and then I have a Big Heap of cooking to get on with, DH doesn't know it yet but he's on hoover duty :p

have a lovely birthday catowen :bdaycake: and I hope all the sick littlies are feeling lots better today.

Have a great day everyone! Only two more sleeps to go!! :xmassmile

  • Good Morning, early birds and chatterboxes! Can't believe it's 7:30 on Saturday, and I'm on page 2
    36_22_28.gifHappy Birthday Catherine!

Got our tree up last night, and it looks gorgeous. Lights are on now in the dark. Small penguins have gone to town decorating the rest of the house, and even pressed and old string of coloured lights into service on the dining room mantel. We burnt our yule log last night, it being the Solstice, and festival of Yule. So if the sun doesn't return after the winter, it's not down to us :D

Children made 72 mince pies, so lots in the freezer.

We 've got nearly all our jobs done, so after stuffing the turkey this morning, we're off to the pictures.

Have a great day, Penny. x :xmastree: :snow_laug :santa2: :rudolf: :xmassmile

    Hello everybody,

Happy Birthday Catherine :bdaycake:Enjoy your day.

Well a busy day here. I was in the kitchen cooking up a storm until lunch. After lunch I had a wee snooze with DH ;):D and have been at the house the rest of the day. It's just past 6pm now so have to get tea on now. I hope all the unwell children get better by Christmas. How awful for them. Poor lambs.

GinGin I can imagine your dissappointment. (((((hugs))))) 6 months will go quickly and tbh you don't want to arrive here in summer. Best to come in our winter and climatise slowly. I love where we live too.

Kaz The only things that works for our dogs is the stuff you put on the back of the neck. Frontline etc. Strange to have fleas this weather isn't it?

Well off back into the kitchen. The kitchen up at the house is looking fab. The electrician ducked in today and wired up the hotplate & oven so all the elec work is now done. Now for the plumber to return. But that's another story. Have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

well just back from ASDA. had planned to go to somerfield then thought...what the hell. it is crazy down there. people seem to forget the shops are only closed 2 days at the most. was looking at some of the trolleys and wondering how many people they were feeding.
was there too early to buy the christmas spirit ;) so will pop in to somerfield later to get some wine, beer and the few odds and ends I forgot. might buy another meal or two as the fridge isnt quite as full as I thought it would be with the turkey in there now.

rest of today will be spent shopping for some last minute pressies. all the presents need to be wrapped. still need to do christmas cards for the neighbours. the house is a such a mess. washing pile is sky high.

why do men get out of doing all this? unfair comment though...mr dogrose is at work earning pennies to keep me in the manner I have become accustomed to!! ;)

and Happy Birthday to catowen. I believe that although it's good to be frugal, it's also good to enjoy yourself .I have always had my 'happy cash' which is an amount that I keep for having fun or buying myself something totally useless or daft.
If you have sixpence then :
tuppence is to use for food & bills
    tuppence is used to save
and tuppence is used to enjoy life with i.e. 'Happy Cash'
It's always worked for me .

I am going to cook some gammon today in my Sc ,fingers crossed. I had some good advice from some OP's on here so I shall give it a go.

Our Tilly Grace is still fighting and hopefully winning. Everyday is a bonus and she gewts a bit stronger. The doctors are starting to look hopeful .

I hope everyone has a good day and tries to relax a little .It's all so busy at this time of the year, and Mums and families get easily stressed out.Remember this is a time to relax as well as cook buckets of sprouts and hundreds of mince pies . :rotfl: So all you Mums, take a breather today, and put your feet up ,even if it's only for half and hour .;)
I hope everyone has a happy and peaceful Christmas, and to those of you in need of a ((hug)) then try to think positive.
It's a very emotional time of the year ,and one when we all think of those absent friends or relations. Raise a glass to them by all means, and remember the happy times, and make some new memories this year for future years
    Happy Christmas everyone .

    Morning all

    Happy Birthday Catowen :)

Mostly all done in the moggins household. The shopping is done, the wrapping is done all bar 3 last minute presents I bought yesterday, all I have to do is remember to pull the turkey out of the freezer. We are heading into town as DH wants to get me one last pressie and I want to sit outside Starbucks and laugh at everyone who left their shopping till the last minute.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

  • Morning all.
Had a nice lie in till 8.20 but from now on my day is busy. Got to go to the local shops for some more wrapping papaer and batteries, and then nees to go to supermarket.Don't need too much thankfully but it will still be manic.
Then huuby is taking the children out for a couple of hours so I can get some cleaning done. Later on hopefully everything will be finished and I might actually get round to making some mince pies...
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas.
