Afternoon Guys!
Having a relaxing day so far. OH & DD went for a walk into the small town we live in as our local deli was doing free tastings on cheese, pate and ham. OH also got a large glass of mulled wine-so he was happy:D
I have been doing some of my latch hook this morning. We bought in the USA 2 years ago and havent done any yet but will look smashing once its done. Its a large rug/wall hanging size 27" and has an old fashioned teddy bear with the USA flag. Quite tricky, and with painful hands will take a while to complete but its quite relaxing;)
OH & DD have also made a trifle for later and 8 large blueberry muffins. Washload just about to go on airer and DW unloaded. House tidy and clean.
I am feeling very tired ATM, so may settle down for a snooze on the sofa with my fav throw. My face is quite bad today with the lupus and looks like I have sunburn across my nose and under eyes:eek:
We have booked up 2 holidays this week for next year. 1 week in summer holidays in Somerset-2 bed cottage with all appliances and suitable for a wheelchair if needed. The other holiday is at Easter in Cornwall-2 bed caravan on a small site. Shopped around and got them both for under £380:D ...really pleased. Haven wanted £600 for 1 week in summer in a basic caravan. Had £75 cashback on my CC so used that towards it and we save £35 pm into a seperate account for holidays-so am pleased with what we have booked. Also DD wont miss any school;)
We heard from Jakes (our old westie) yesterday wishing us a merry xmas and that Jake is doing well. He has a GF:D He's only 3 and loves all the attention he gets from the old dears on his daily walks. Im so happy that he went to great people on a farm etc. I do miss him alot though. A picture is on the way to us, so that will be nice to see.
Anyway, Id better go and have a rest. Hugs to all.

Well I've done all my cleaning and stuff, and managed to clear out some more stuff which is now in a black sac, ready for the charity shop when it re-opens in the new year.:)
Now I'm online for a little bit while I'm checking my emails etc. and of course I just HAVE to post on MSE fora while...
Soooo... I'm all ready for Christmas :jBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
Happy Birthday catowen  Have a great day
We enjoyed our lunch with my mate yesterday. He had no trouble flying over from Scotland.
We have been busy today. Haircut, picked up a few last items of shopping (including my fav, strawberries for Christmas morning :j ) and I presented a tin of choc biscuits to my very grateful car mechanic.
My mother came up yesterday afternoon and will spend the next few days with us.
Hope everyone has a nice day.

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Catowen! Have a great day.
I think we're just about ready for our marathon feast tomorrow. We're having lunch with DH's parents, then supper with friends in the evening. My mum has likened it to the Vicar of Dibley Christmas special a few years ago when she went round the whole village on Christmas Day! It's my parents' house on Christmas Day, being pampered and feeding the dog sprouts.
This morning I posted my final ebay parcel. It was full in the wine merchant's when DH went to get his dad a bottle of wine  and the local butcher was crammed. The butcher's shop was also doing bacon or sausage rolls from a little garageway next to their shop. As the coffee shop was so full, we had a bacon sarnie each. I love their bacon, but it was particularly delicious today.
We were thinking about going to the cinema this afternoon, but realised that we'd miss some of Strictly Come Dancingso couldn't possibly go! I've got a bit of ironing to do and sorting out. Oooh, then there's a couple of thank you letters to write for various meals out that we've had this week. And one good friend has just got engaged, so needs a handmade engagement card. I had a look in shops for engagement card inspiration, but it seems as though hardly anyone gets engaged at this time of year .
I'll go for now as DH has just brought me a cuppa AND the last chocolate beetroot muffin.

Hi all!:santa2:
I haven't been posting on here for ages due to connection problems, but had to come on today to say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHERINE!
so i hope the pc behaves today!
Our Christmas dinner will feel a bit strange this year as there will just be me, DH and DS. DD2, SIL and babyDGS are popping round in the morning to deliver and receive prezzies, then going home for lunch, then to SIL's family in afternoon. But we are going to DD1's for Boxing Day dinner. She's doing chicken (they don't like turkey) so I'm cooking roast pork on Christmas day for a change!
When we were in Sainsbury's the other day I bought some of their fake Bailey's. It's really nice.... I don't think it's going to last past Christmas Day!
Penny-Pincher - have a good rest so that you can enjoy "the Day". Hope it will be one of your "good" days. Thinking of you! ((((HUGS)))) (That mulled wine sounds good! Knew we should have gone in your direction this morning, instead of just to the local shops!:p )
HUGS to everyone who's in need of one!
Catznine - hope you have a good Christmas, hon. Don't try to do too much! Will try to pm or email you soon. Can only manage one post at a time!
Sorry to hear some of the OS littlies are ill at Christmas time! May they recover quickly. When DD2 was three she woke up on Christmas day with really bad tonsillitis. We were in Germany then, as DH was in the Army, so we spent the morning at the Medical Centre. We were their only customers. The medic had to call the doctor away from his Family Christmas. I'll never forget poor little DD opening her presents and trying to be pleased with them while feeling dreadful!
Although I haven't been able to post, or even sometimes to use the "Thanks" button, I have read the thread most days and think of you all.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas! :xmassmile and don't be sad if money's tight. Christmas happens in the heart.
Best wishes

TKP wrote:Just been to the (supposed) Farmers Market, and guess what... nothing - no market!
Does anyone know any links to lists of farmers markets please?
Have a look on www.farmersmarkets.net It's not a comprehensive list, but most markets are members of the National Association of Farmers' Markets.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
