Suzanne ... I love that song...
I can see your hand reach into that drawer as we speak..:D:rotfl: You will never get past the minstrels, or the mars bars and then the kit kats:eek::rotfl: I could just eat a mars bar myself...haven't had one for ages- now look what they have started:rotfl::rotfl:
    :rotfl: Still prefer Snickers/Marathon myself.
The mars bars are all yours, far to claggy for my liking (they are sort of Ok if stored in the salad drawer of the fridge). And kit kats ... may need to pop to the shop tomorrow :)

I have been discovering the delights 'murdering' of haribo jelly babies, so thoughts of Steve and/or Johnny are much better

Ooh, and kitkats. And tho I love Steve, Michael Shanks has my heart :smileyhea

Never tried making the ones like that, usually they end up as Krispie cakes and get scoffed by all and sundry.:rotfl:

Am waiting for freezer, tidying and watching 'Celebrity Apprentice' at same time.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • For some reason i seem to have great trouble staying logged on here, but will see how this post goes.

Today's spends they amount to £30 for basic staples for stock cupboard- i have been around Home Bargains, Netto( which will soon be an ASDA:o) and farmfoods-they have two loaves of sliced bread for £1.50 which are Warburtons and quite tasty- so freezer has been filled. A HM loaf is also on the go.

DS has had a job interview today so positive thoughts for him, fingers, toes and everything else crossed.:D

Everything seems calm and quiet up here at the moment all though it could be to do with the extremely wet weather we are having,( the local looters are afraid of getting wet) nice for the beans and plants but rubbish for hair-which has resorted to wild curls again...:rotfl:

Had one letter back from the tax to say my tax affairs are in order i have had one rebate(very nice too) and I am due another in this months wages for this year; but i am not due one for the previous year..i did think this was wrong, until i looked at some wage slips and realised i have been given a tax rebate on those:silenced::whistle::doh: So i have to put in a revised one re allowable expenses and then i will have my tax code adjusted accordingly. Not to shabby really and i am thankful for their timely answer.:D

I have decided to take on a few more mystery shops again, i keep getting surveys through and will do some of those and hope i don't get chucked off them half way through- was highly annoying last time. So that is one way of increasing income.

I also had a phone call from bank this am- re another review:eek: I pointed out that i had already been in and she said that was fine. However, it was to do specifically with the overdraft as in Mr.B's- it did inspire a *gulp* moment- but was ok as i have it set to reduce by a monthly amount, just want it to be gone now. If they decide to pull it after we move accounts without letting us pay bit by bit, then i may have to see what i can do from the savings. Not all bad but not all good really. I think once it has gone that will be a relief on all sides. I haven't got the option to put it on a super transfer balance as Mr.B had an MBNA card and they used to allow you to do that- somehow though i don't think they will be allowing that one.

So must think of cunning plan re overdraft ASAP. Going to have a looksie on the bank boards about it and may see if i can play a ccard shuffle with my own remaining cards, to release some funds on main finances- although i have been closing down when they are gone so i haven't left myself many options and i don't want to many credit searches on the files as i have some other plans for the next few months.

I have often found that wallowing in self pity does not help matters, sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and get in amongst it and deal with it. Sounds like you are doing that right now, with the old brain cells whirring away trying to come up with a shedload of cunning plans!

Of course, there is nothing wrong with using your diary to vent your frustrations and stop the top of your head blowing off like a pressure cooker. I have done that myself and found it extremely helpful. So, get juggling them there turnips, missus, and see if you can get a little closer to that little light shining at the end of the tunnel.
One life - your life - live it!
  • I agree NB, i am always gritting my teeth :) I like to mull but i probably over analyze! I also reach a point when i clear things that makes me realize how much money we have been paying out..i am sure others feel like that as well. So loins well and truly girded for next battle. I will target the overdraft, i am sure it can be done in fact i know it can!

    Next.........................:)
