wow lol Mustang very very posh for your kitties
You dont fancy making me one of those do you lol, it sounds ideal for multi cat households where whiffs can be a problem or friends not liking the site of a litter tray covered or not.
Jellybubble i got my chick crumbs of a robbing bloke on ebay(he charged double plus vat for a sack grrrr)wherever he had them i guess they managed to get the mites and multiply by the time i got them and gave them some nice heat lol they bred in their millions, as i said layers pellets/chick crumbs are a fab litter but i didnt like the branny smell or lol the mites
Thanks. It sounds horrible what you had to cope with! (plus expensive.) Poor you.0 -

I use Cat's Best Oko Plus.
Yes it is & - I put my sanitary waste in the dustbin - fairly sure that flushing that stuff down the toilet is not helping matters at all.
Cat's Best Oko Plus is good stuff tho.0 -
One thing that works well is surgical spirits--mix some with some water and spray onto the carpet. It should remove the smell.
If the cat does it again try some lemongrass oil mixed in water and sprayed.I used this sprayed around the cat flap to stop a tom cat coming through.I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0 -
Thanks for the tips folks but I got it sorted, I ripped the carpet up haha, there was lino underneath, It wasn't my intention to do that but once we moved all the stuff out of the room I noticed my boiler or a pipe has been leaking and mould had been growing.....part of the smell. The room smells of bleach now, ahhhh lovely.0

Bleach is the worst thing you can you when a cats peeing in the house. They think the smell is another cat peeing.! You will find it best to use a biological washing powder to wash the area if its lino, and then try the lemongrass oil, I use about 15-20 in a pint of water.I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0

Looking for a cat litter which is easy to clean up both from the tray and surrounding areas.
What do others use which is good, knowing ones to avoid would be useful too.0 -

there are lots of areas on this site about litter do a search & read them. I find that litter by it's definition is messy - the ones that are looser - ie non clumping are generally less absorbant (so will either require a weak sense of smell to tolerate it or v regular changing). The really good clumpers can set rock hard (best using a proper metal trowel to remove clumps from tray a plastic one may break) - so it really depends what you prefer. The fine mineral ones are generally quite dusty and the paper ones can stick to fur so I think the terms `hobsons choice' applies - litter is messy!:rotfl:0 -
I hate clumping litter. I find it dusty and horrid to remove the clumps.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
I use Tesco Value Lightweight Litter, it's cheap enough to allow you to totally change the tray every day. Costs me under £2 a week with 2 kittens and one lazy adult cat. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0
