OMG, what size is your cat?

    What you're lifting shouldn't be THAT heavy!!:p

j/k - I've never seen a metal one, but found that giving the tray a little shake to find where the poo was helped to find it rather than lifting up big scoopfuls of litter.

ps I do have a stainless steel fish slice and slotted spoon in my utensils drawer that would both fit the bill if you feel you're quite heavy handed.;) They came from Sainsburys, iirc.:D

I have the cat litter stuff that goes into solid heavy lumps I lifted a few of them today and it broke, thats the 2nd one gone in about 6 weeks

Its the handle it goes it doesn't look very strong to me and the lumps I have to scrape in litter and I think its that, that does it

The cat isnt a big cat about 2 came from RSPCA

...but my mum has a utensil that looks exactly like that, which is for getting food out of pans! Personally I would go and look in somewhere that sells cookware and look for a similar metal utensil!

We use one of those little 'shovels' you get with fire companion sets

Urgh!! Scoops that are covered in poo are not nice......how do you clean it after you have used it? Yuk yuk yuk!

350 nappy sacks for about 80p from Wilkos......use those to scoop with and turn inside out and tie.

I also use them for my doggy's dodo's.

As long as you only use them for scooping litter and not food! :D

Um - a small garden trowel or spade does the job fine - in fact better as it's strong (cast iron on steel) & has no holes for `bits' to get through. I leave mine inside the litter bag - wipe it with a freezer bag to get excesses off or wait until scoops are `drier' & hey presto. I haven't used a plastic `litter' scoop for years - too much faffing around then there are the little holes that allow `used' litter to mix back with unused....
